A family-run business since 1974, Janbar Electric Ltd. was founded by husband and wife team Jane and Bart Smits. Their early focus was on providing quality electrical services primarily to farms, rural businesses and homeowners in the Quinte region. Working to develop a reputation for reliability, Jane and Bart grew the company modestly over the years, expanding to include industrial and commercial electrical clients.
By the early 90's, Jane and Bart's son, Mike Smits, began to follow in his family's footsteps, initially by attending an Electronics program at Radio College of Canada. Mike worked for a few years in the electronics field in Toronto before moving back to Trenton to apprentice as an electrician in the family business.

From the first phone call to initial meeting, Janbar is a top notch business. John quoted on a project to supply new wiring to a barn - rewire from top to bottom, new panel, install new fixtures and prep for heating and air-conditioning. Professionalism combined with a witty sense of humor made me feel at ease - and to my eye, this was a very large job - which Janbar zipped through with ease. Hands down The Only Electricians You Need To Call, Period.
