EMSA North understands the importance of sports in the lives of our youth. Soccer is not only the fastest-growing youth sport all over the world, but it's currently the most popular sport in Alberta. We want to give every child in our community the opportunity to build new friendships, learn new skills and develop a sense of self that they can carry with them in the future.
We have been in operation for over 33 years and began as a small group of volunteers wanting to offer soccer programs to youth in their communities. Mario Charpentier, George Juhasz, Barrie White and Jim Sweeney were the first members of EMSA North. EMSA North programs began in 1977 and soccer groups in North Edmonton began to emerge.
All concerns & complaints must come in via writing, please carbon copy the North Zone office for any issues that you feel are pertinent. All submissions must be submitted after the mandatory 24 hour cooling off period and follow the chain of communication below. Please note if the chain of communication is not followed the concern will not be reviewed.
Below is a list of field closure lines. These are the numbers in which coaches and parents should call to find out if the field their game is scheduled on has been closed due to the weather. These lines are typically updated by 4:00pm daily. Please note that there is the possibility of games being cancelled due to inclement weather by the EMSA North BOD during the outdoor season for U5-U11 teams even if the city fields are open.
EMSA North exists to promote, develop and govern the soccer program in the communities that make up the North Zone of Edmonton. We strive to provide for all children and youth in the North Zone the opportunity to enjoy the "beautiful game." We endeavour to develop all our players, regardless of initial skill, to their full potential as soccer players, encouraging the values of good sportsmanship and of course having fun.
