By machining your valves and valve seats, you can maximize the efficiency of the fuel flow control system and minimize power loss through badly seated valves. A smooth level surface on the cylinder head ensures a good seal with the entire surface of the cylinder block. This is even more crucial with today's MLS gaskets.

Great service, workmanship and pleasure to deal with. They got me in quickly and performed the work quicker than I expected. It was my first time dealing with them and I was very impressed. I dealt with Kevin at the counter but talked to a couple other guys and they seem to have a solid team. Work was excellent and prices were very fair, highly recommend.

Rob has been landing the plane over the phone for me (so to speak) for a few years now, his and his teams knowledge has kept my mistakes to an all time low and my motors are very very grateful. It's easy for a shop to look good when everything goes according to plan without any hiccups. What makes a shop truly amazing is when something goes wrong and the shop goes out there way to make it right. I bought a fuel injection system from these guys and I had some problems with it. It's obvious that these guys don't manufacture the systems in their shop but I bought from them and because of this Rob went out of his way to deal with the manufacturer, avoid shipping costs, and help me get my car back on the road as soon as possible. This service is over and above what's expected in my opinion

Rob, Kevin and Jeff are all extremely knowledgeable as well as very patient. They provided me with all my engine machining, as well as every part I needed for my engine build. Their customer service is off the charts as they took many phone calls from me as I bombarded them with numerous questions while assembling my engine. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for any form of machining or engine work.

Very nice team, knowledgeable and helpful. I met initially with Kevin and later with Rob and Jeff. It was my first project which was building a Jeep Liberty engine. They helped me by explaining all details and options to build my headers and fix my cracked cylinder bore. I even called them later while building the engine and they helped me by sending torque specs and other instructions. They did a lot of work to my engine; changed valve seats, guides etc.. surfaced the heads, valve service job, changed cylinder bore sleeve and more..The engine fired right up and runs very smoothly. Most recently I dropped off heads from a 502 Ramjet crate motor. After inspection issues were found and all areas were addressed. Additionally I had them research and install some perfomance upgrades. They were also mindful of my budget. Turnaround time was on point and they went above and beyond the initial work order without charging me additional fees. I have used them before on another build and was very satisfied. Mad respect to the entire team. Thank you for keeping the Dually running like the beast it is!

Best automotive machine shop in the business hands down. Robbie, Kevin, Jeff, these guys at Alec’s Automotive will go above and beyond your expectations. They are extremely knowledgeable and will work with you every step of the way. Weather it’s a valve job or a total engine rebuild, they know whats up. They’ve done all of my Harley top ends for me, and honestly I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my motors now. They feel more like family than my machine shop. Satisfied customer for life right here.

The team at Alec's built up an exceptional motor for my classic car. They took the time to break down the costing to each nut, bolt, and gasket, and also explained the rationale behind the cam choice and lifter ratio. Rob also helped me break in the cam on my fresh engine on his own time. Could not recommend Alec's enough!

Not sure where to start. This guys are A1 really solid outfit. If you need engine work or an engine rebuild look no further. Very fair pricing and just top of the line work. I have dealt with dozens of machine shops and Alec's is by far the best. My installer walked twice by the rebuilt engine because he thought thought the engine looked so new it… couldn't possibly be the right one. Rob and his team looked after us every step of the way, from pickup to delivery, helping us find a good installer, service was on time, easy to reach and work with and price was very fair. The guys at Alecs do an incredible job at both. I've always been a backyard enthusiast, but when it comes to the heavy duty lifting of an engines internals, I've never felt confident. Rob, Jeff and the entire team took the time to research my build, find the right parts and cam specs for my desired build. Once they did that, they educated me and took me through the entire process.

I took my cylinder head in after having problems with low compression in the engine of my 240sx. They were very friendly when I first walked in and as they tested the head they explained everything they were doing to me as I was watching them run the tests. Also being unsure if it was the top or bottom end causing the low compression rob ran me through all the options of what could be causing the problem. They did a great job resurfacing my head and got me a gasket kit for 1/3 of the price I was quoted at lordco, they also provided me with a print out of all the torque specs I would need for reassembling

Just so everyone knows, Alecs Automotive, thinks knurling guides the same as installing new guides...and will tell you that they are installing new guides, charge you for installing new guides and only when it fails will you see what they have done, which in my case, to a set of new heads... a sloppy knurling job

OMG this is the cutest shop ever that I have walked by. Such character and history that my heart instantly fell in love. With all the nice character older buildings being torn down in Vancouver it was so nice to see something like this in a continuing evolving retail neighborhood. I came in here primarily to get an idea for the shop as I am in the market to finally get some body work on my car that has been on the back burner (I know). Sadly they do not specialize in body work but rather engine work. Thankfully it is not an engine problem. They did recommend me to a body shop which was appreciated

Rob and his team recently built and installed a 383 Stroker in my Chevelle. I was extremely happy with all the service they provided. Rob is very professional with a great attitude, very knowledgable and always willing to give you advice even after the job was completed. They go the extra mile for there customers, tracking down parts and working towards my budget. They produce quality products at a reasonable price and in a timely fashion. Paperwork and dyno sheets so you know exactly what your getting, which was an absolute beast of a motor.
