Lions Campground is closed for the season. Lions Campground, located in the heart of Red Deer, combines the beauty of a park with the convenience of the city. The Red Deer River provides a striking backdrop to the campground, and campers are welcome to enjoy the expansive trail system that winds its way along the scenic waterway.
Lions Campground is just minutes from the wealth of stores, cultural opportunities, and golf courses in Red Deer, so urban opportunities abound for people travelling through the region. The safety of our guests and team members is of the utmost importance.

Secure as in the whole camp ground is fenced, a code is needed to access bathrooms etc. One cannot get passed the gate without verification from one or two people at the booth. Some of the campsites seem close together and small, but there are a lot of trees and bushes for privacy. Tenting is allowed and bathrooms and showers are on site. If one is looking for something more remote and farther from civilization, this wouldn't be the place to go but young children seem to like it as well as quiet couples.

I am still confused writing this review, I just recently covered a van into a camper for traveling, I pull into this campground after a 4 hr travel to find out me and my camper van are not allowed to stay here, I have no idea why there are motor homes and campers camping here but me and my camper van are not welcome unless I have a tent????? This makes zero since as I'm traveling in a camper Not cool !!!

Be careful when booking your campsite at this park. Avoid odd numbered, poorley laid out, sites 47 to 59. These sites are like setting up in a parking lot, min. green space between sites & you have a lovely view of your neighbours sewer hook ups from your picnic table. Also, too small of space for them to include a fire pit like all the other sites at the park.

Some nice sites along the river with fire pits. Center area camping is very congested with no privacy. Playgrounds and bathroom facilities are in good repair. Access to the public paved city walking/walking trails system along the river.
This part, I feel bad for the campground ownership because we cut our visit short, as our grandkids became scared to stay in the campground. We accessed the walking trails from the campground during our stay. Were uncomfortable with the druggies making sales and shooting up at park bench, and the sketchy guys hovering around in and out of the trees. The number

It's a really nice clean campground. Was easy to book and very well maintained. Their bathrooms are really nice and very clean. They have tent sites available, but also really nice RV sites with full hookups. The have a sani dump station on site. The staff are really friendly and are very present during the day. This campground does have a few restrictions. Not all sites have a fire pit. Some sites also don't have much green space around them, others have a great green space. Its a nice family oriented campground. It also has a nice waking path beside river and a playground for kids. Quiet time
