Our original location is in the town of Essex. We have worked very hard to put a wonderful, stimulating program for each of our rooms and we hope you as parents will be actively involved in all areas of the program with your ideas and suggestions. Our staff are very carefully chosen to include a wide variety of loving, experienced, professional team members.

Services
First Steps Childcare is a privately owned and operated child care facility dedicated to providing quality child care for children 3 months to 12 years. We want our Childcare Centre to be the best place for children to be when they can not be with their parents. We strive to reflect the high standards set by the Ministry of Education surpassing all requirements for our childcare facility.
Our program at First Steps Childcare Centre is a reflection of our philosophy; which is to provide a safe nurturing environment that will allow each child to express their individuality and creativity indoors and out. It is important that all areas of development will be included by providing the best possible environment so that the children are actively involved while they are meeting their social, physical, emotional and intellectual needs.

Sue has been absolutely fantastic! My 3 kids (8, 6 & 18 months) all love going to First Steps, they have made good friends with other kids, eaten great, healthy foods, and the programming and summer activity schedule is age appropriate. The staff are compassionate about what they do, and love sharing stories of my youngest and her accomplishments and participation in songs and activities! Sue and her staff are also able to accommodate our busy schedule, providing us with flexibility when we need it and went out of her way to provide latchkey services when we had no other reasonable options!
