Juno award winning multi-instrumentalist jazz musician, LCMS alumnus and newly appointed Artist-in-Residence Brad Turner will be performing as pianist with a varied selection of jazz tunes and own compositions. He will be joined by Vancouver based. We provide students with the opportunity to study with highly qualified faculty and to develop a life-long appreciation of music.

History Report

The goal was to develop an arts centre for Langley that would enable students "to learn music in a musical environment, " rather than in the isolation of private home studios. In 1969, Langley Community Music School opened its doors to 28 young musicians. The building was financed and built by Dr. Lamont and Peter Ewart and gifted to the City of Langley.

Langley Community Music School offers comprehensive and innovative programming for students of all ages and levels, from babies through to seniors, and from beginner to pre-professional levels. LCMS gives musicians of all ages, abilities and aspirations the opportunity to experience music-making in a nurturing and fun environment.

Online Learning Report

Langley Community Music School offers music lessons, classes and events in-person and online! For over 50 years, we have been teaching and sharing music. During this time of physical distancing, we are happy to continue providing students with access to world-class musical education and a vibrant, musical community.

Skills learned in general musicianship classes support individual music instruction, whether taken concurrently or at some time in the future. The Music School has been a great family for the last decade. Our children have shared great experiences and made great friends. It is with a heavy heart this year that our kids can no longer participate in group activities. We hope for the future to rejoin our friends.

We have been attending LCMS for over 1 year and have really enjoyed the programs there! My 10 year old has taken up violin and his instructor is amazing!! She is so patient and kind with him and he has learned so much in such a short time.

They play contemporary music created by Canadian composers. They are an excellent group of teachers who have always supported new music and they will continue to perform new music created especially for the students by excellent Canadian composers who love them and want for them to succeed

This school offers very high quality of teaching music to children and adults.
The level of expertise and professionalism is unlike any other schools we have attended over the years. We thoroughly enjoy the performances of our children as well as teachers and other musicians.
Our children have grown a lot in such a caring environment and made not only beautiful music but also great childhood memories we will treasure for many years.

A beautiful building with a well kept field. The entrance is lovely and if you want to go for a hike, you have direct access at the end of the field.

I wouldn't want to teach anywhere else! The Langley music school is recognized for its excellence and high standard.My colleges are like family. (This is very rare in most work places) but then, this school is not a work place, it is a place to share ideas and foster a love for music.
