Parental involvement is crucial to a student's success. It is scientifically proven that learning is improved when parents take an active approach in their child's learning process (Hattie 2009*). This includes actively supervising driving practice to ensure that learners gain enough experience and insight before solo driving.
Lead by example: Drive safely and stay calm. Don't text. Wear your seatbelt. Be courteous to others. Adhere to (and exceed) the 60 hours of supervised driving required by ICBC. Plan and log your sessions. Spend the time to do this right. We recommend 120 hours supervised practice before taking the "N" road test.*
1 Choose a space of 1 1/2 car length behind vehicle where you need to or asked by examiner to Parallel Park then approx 30 meter before approaching the parked vehicle, check your Right mirror, signal right, shoulder check and move slowly toward right hand side closer to the vehicle. 2) Bring your right side mirror to the center column of the parked car (By Driver door's handle) and complete Stop.
