The test hole excavation is done by hand. Heavy machinery that could damage the lawn is not involved. After the inspection, the test holes are back filled, the sod is carefully put back and tamped into place. A septic tank/bed system has two essential components: the septic tank and the septic bed.
Sludge that accumulates at the bottom of the tank must be pumped out about every 2-3 years. How frequently depends on the Size of the tank, the number of residents and the number of litres/day discharged to the septic tank. There are no additives you can put in the tank to deal with sludge. It must be pumped out.

All I wanted was to replace an aging septic system.. though Bill Seabrooke and his engineer Steve Bassett designed a system way over our budget.. being seniors and living in rural Ottawa we were baffled by the complexity of all this.. after further thought we decided to go with a 'conventional system' rather than the ATL system they had designed.. I guess we should have been more cautious and did some homework... getting a contractor to do a different design meant a revision (Mr Bassett charged more than RVCA said it would cost).. well I ended up with a filter media bed.. raised 5 feet

We had Green Valley Environmental come out to provide a septic inspection. Stuart and Joe were fantastic - super informative and knowledgeable. They took the time to provide an extremely thorough report and answer all of our questions.
We will continue to use GVE for all of our ongoing septic system needs. I highly recommend them!

Had a septic pump out. The two man crew who arrived on site were polite and professional. There knowledge of septic systems allowed for the detection of a issue. With there advice, I conducted the repair and was able to save alot of money. I will certainly return to GVE for any future septic pumping, repair, and eventually tank replacement. I would recommend them to any one.

The owner (Bill) took my emergency call after I was suspecting either an issue with my house plumbing or the septic system. He sent his guys and they pumped the tank and told me the issue was the septic tank/system
and not the plumbing. They told my wife that she can resume use of toilets which caused a sewage over flow into my basement and damage. Later on I was told by their own men that looking back " we should have flushed and make sure that there is no plumbing issue ". They further found all sort of fault with my septic tank and started selling their $40,000+ system. Mean while all I needed

Buyer beware. Company owner Mr Seabrook is a smooth fast talking operator that is out to take as much of your money as possible. These guys know their business but there are other solutions that are equivalent and cheaper.
Check with the Ottawa court house. Professional litigants. Either suing or getting sued.
Trouble always finds these guys.
