We are a Toronto based North American long-short equity fund with a small cap bias. We invest in great businesses and aim to achieve compounding long-term returns. We have extremely low overlap with major indices and believe our unique portfolio is part of the secret to our success. We attempt to buy outstanding businesses at a reasonable price, rather than inferior businesses with low relative valuations.

We evaluate businesses based on their expected future earnings. We believe return on equity is the best proxy for growth and so we seek out companies with recurring or growing ROEs of 20% or more. Typically, this also means that companies have a superior business or maintain a competitive advantage.
Services
Donville Kent Asset Management Inc. is a highly specialized asset management firm that manages investments on behalf of individual investors as well as select institutions. The DKAM Capital Ideas Fund is our top priority. Our portfolio managers spend most of their time reading, reviewing companies, analysing macroeconomics, and completing original financial models so that we understand our companies better than anyone else.
The performance of the DKAM Capital Ideas Fund is our top priority. Many members of our team are significantly invested in the fund - alongside our clients - resulting in the highest possible alignment of interests. We believe this is one of the keys to our success. We invest in a group of high conviction companies, of which the top 10 names generally make up 75% of the overall portfolio.
We have two vehicles with which to invest in the DKAM Capital Ideas strategy, a Limited Partnership for non registered accounts or a Trust version for registered accounts. Investment in either option is only available to accredited investors or licensed discretionary portfolio managers.

We offer a series consolidation accounting methodology where new investors are not penalized for income or capital gains which have been accrued in previous months. For instance, an investor who enters into the fund in November does not receive taxable income that resulted from trading in the ten previous months.
