My name is Matt and I am a full time wedding photographer in Kelowna with over 9 years experience. I am an artist, a story teller and a creator of vibrant and colourful imagery. The Okanagan has always taken my breath away with its mountains, lakes and colourful skies and I love incorporating its scenery into wedding portraits while creating images that capture each couple and their personalities in a way that is unique to them.
Photographing weddings is so rewarding for me and I love all of the emotional moments experienced. I have been married to my beautiful wife, Katie, for 14 years now, together for 17, and have four amazing kids, David, Noah, Jacob and Elijah. I am so fortunate to have such a beautiful family and count my blessings every day. While I don't consider myself an "artsy" person by any means, I have been an artist since I can remember.

If you have checked out my other "Top Locations" page you will know that I favour locations with a diverse sort of environment. This is useful if you are planning on doing a full shoot. But for this we are just looking to create one great portrait. Never EVER use on camera flash (little pop up flash or attached speed light aimed at the subject).
So I have been asked more frequently as of late if I provide any lessons, workshops or tutorials. While workshops have been placed on the back burner for the time being due to being flooded with weddings, I thought that I would post a tutorial section for those interested. So this first post is more of an intro to portraits that will serve as a base for the posts to follow.

We had Matt as our photographer for our wedding on December 8th, and I have to say he surpassed our expectations in every way! Matt is unbelievably talented. The way he captures photos is really incredible, he has an attention to detail and an ability to create photos that look so natural, even when posed. We were so blessed to have him as part of our day, and we felt that he genuinely cared to get to know us as a couple in the months leading up to the wedding day. Matt did an AMAZING job at our wedding this summer! Honestly couldn't be happier with the job that he did. Our photos all turned out wonderful both in digital form and the hard copy book he had made for us. The video that he put together made many many people cry and captured every but of our speci day that we cpuld have hoped for. He used the song my wife walked down the isle to as the song in the video and it was a spectacular use of creative license on his part. I would 10/10 reccomend Matt for any special days that you want to remember in the best way possible. Thank you Matt!

Matt was our photographer for our wedding and engagement shoot and I cannot say enough good things! The photos he took were absolutely stunning, they were really high quality and so stunning! My husband and I were smiling ear to ear when we received the photos. Matt was super professional both leading up to the wedding and on the day and was more than willing to answer my bombardment of emails. It was also so fun to have our photos taken by Matt, he was super easy to talk to and gave really great notes on how to pose for two people who really had no idea. Matt is an extremely talented, creative and artistic wedding photographer. He offered a complimentary engagement photoshoot with our wedding package so that he could get to know us before the big day. The photos that he sent us were not your typical wedding photos – we ended up with something out of a magazine! Matt was so professional, responsive during the planning stages and really went above and beyond to make every shot perfect. My husband and I got married in November 2015 in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. We decided to bring Matt down with us as we had heard mixed reviews from other newlyweds regarding resort photographers. Matt Morgan Photography- He is amazing!!!! Would book him over and over again. We got married August 24 in Kelowna and had such a great experience. Matt also did our engagement photos which were beyond stunning and after that experience we left the details up to him for our wedding. They provided great directions and got our fairly large bridal party (6 on each side) feeling comfortable and organized. I can not wait to see all the photos!

Matt did videography for our wedding this past summer and we cannot even begin to express just how amazing the video turned out. Our video turned out even better than we could have imagined. We chose Matt Morgan Photography for our engagement and wedding pictures. Of course coming into the wedding, it was very nerve-wrecking but Matt really helped us through the process and made it an enjoyable experience. They truly love what they do and made us feel so comfortable through the whole process.
