In 1972, John Gunter Sr, became an owner/operator with one truck. Over the years, his business grew and he began working almost exclusively for OWL Distribution Inc. and Stubbes Precast. In 2003, John incorporated his company, and became John Gunter & Sons Trucking Ltd. His two sons Gordon and John Jr. and his wife Cindy entered into partial ownership of the company.
At that time there were 15 trucks. In the few years following, John decided he wanted to expand his business even further and entered into a partnership with an investment company and the company name changed to Gunter Transportation Ltd.
