Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs) are about resolving cases. They are utilized by personal injury lawyers, employers, employment agencies, and insurance companies to determine the functional capabilities and limitations of a particular individual. These functional capabilities are typically physical, but may also include cognitive elements, when appropriate, such as in the case of traumatic brain injuries.
A Physical Demands Analysis is a thorough evaluation of the the physical, cognitive, and sensory demands of a particular job, as well as documentation of evironmental factors. A job differs from an occupation in that job demands can vary from employer to employer for the same occupation.
The Physical Demands Analysis is useful in identifying key attributes required for job candidates, which can be assessed during Post Employment Offer Testing (POET) or a Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE).Moreover, there are useful in indentifying limitations when orchestrating Graduated Return to Work plans for injured workers.

Ergonomics is the science of designing the job, equipment, and workplace to fit the worker. An ergonomic assessment identifies ergonomic risk factors and provides solutions based ergonomic standards, considerations with respect to their reported medical condition/symptoms and best practices in ergonomics, anthropocentrics, personal preferences and described job functions.
Post Offer of Employment Testing (POET) assists employers in reducing injuries and employee turnover by improving the pre-hire screening process for prospective hires. Each assessment is structured specifically for each employer and their positions with respect to the unique physical job demands. The POET tells an employer if a potential hire can safely and reliable meet the demands of the position for which they are being considered.
