Had railing and steps replaced; biggest issue was that the installed cracked the step horizontally through the wood on the lowest step (the one that would take the most wear and tear). The installer cracked the step while adding a screw to secure something that he didn't repair. He didn't discuss this screw or the potential impacts; for example cracking the step. When the step cracked a putty job was done to repair it. I had to push for a proper repair on the brand new steps! It took him 15 minutes once I got them back.
