Services
Sturgeon Point Golf Club is a public course open to all as either Green Fee Players or Members. Designed in 1899 by C.E. Robinson, our historic 9-hole facility is a non-profit course, reinvesting all profits back into the maintenance and upgrading of the course and facilities. The course is relatively flat with little distance between each green and the next tee, making it easily walkable.
Our historic Clubhouse with a covered patio overlooking Sturgeon Lake and the first tee is an LLBO licensed facility. Hot and cold drinks are available for purchase from the Pro Shop. The Pro Shop offers club and cart (power and pull) rentals, clothing, accessories, and a snack bar with hot food, concessions and drinks to fuel you up for a round, or satisfy your thirst after your game.
Keeping our course in peak condition takes a team effort, both from our greens crew as well as from our members and guests. We appreciate your attention to repairing any ball marks that occur during your round. If you have any questions about course etiquette and how to do your part in keeping to course pristine, don't hesitate to ask for advice in the Pro Shop.
Mike grew up just outside of Fenelon Falls and has a long history with the Sturgeon Point Golf Club. He started playing golf at age 7, when his mother, Mary Gascho, who was working in the SPGC Pro Shop would bring him to work and he would hit golf balls to pass the time. Mike started working at the club at age 11, picking up balls out of the woods surrounding the practice range.
For one-on-one coaching, book a private or semi-private lesson with Mike to suit your schedule. Lessons are taught at our practice range or putting green, depending on the skills you're working on. These fun and social one-hour evening sessions focus on a different aspect of the game each week. Includes a beer or glass of wine after the coaching session, to congratulate or console.depending on how the evening goes.
