Brasil Wellness
Jiu-Jitsu is a martial art, combat sport and a self-defense system created by the legendary Gracie family. Especially instrumental to the art's development was Helio Gracie, the youngest of the five Gracie Brothers. Due to his thin and frail physique, he was forced to adapt the techniques he learned, so that smaller, weaker person could overcome an adversary of greater size and strength.

A simple answer for this question is that yoga makes you feel better physically and mentally. Practicing the postures, breathing exercises and meditation makes your body healthier in mind and spirit. Yoga lets you tune in, chill out, shape up - all at the same time.

Brasil Wellness Center was started in the summer of 2011 by Roberta Cruz-Toews and her husband Dean Toews. Being that Dean is an active Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Instructor and Roberta a certified Yoga Instructor, it was only natural that the two of them would unite two great arts under one roof to form the Brasil Wellness Center.
Bring your son or daughter to learn kids self defence and have fun. Through a combination of "verbal kids self-defence" kickboxing and ground-fighting Jiu Jitsu, your child will learn our kids self defence through our Bully Proofing/Anti-Abduction program - along with respect and discipline!

Our kids self defence programs will help on developing behavioral and attitudinal aspects inherent with martial arts such as respect, confidence, discipline and control.Through providing a fun and safe atmosphere for kids, we can foster a healthy environment in which they can learn and develop not only self- defense skills, but life skills as well.
The number one reason women are usually given for why they should train Jiu Jitsu is " because it teaches you how to protect yourself". There's a good reason for it: Jiu Jitsu is designed for weaker, smaller opponents to dominate larger ones using technique rather than strength. Protecting yourself is a focus but this being said Jiu Jitsu has so much more to offer than just self-defense!
Brasil Wellness Center is pleased to be able to bring in Traditional Muay Thai Classes to our list of classes available to our members. This program will be taught as a legitimate traditional Muay Thai, the way it was originally taught rather than that of an American Kick Boxing Style of teaching. Our Instructor for this Class will be Muay Thai Vet-Ken Edgar.
Brasil Wellness Center is proud to announce we are now offering a Wrestling Class all on its own to enhance our already existing Jiu Jitsu Program! This class will be a one-hour duration and concentrate on the elements of Wrestling Takedowns and Control of and opponent using the techniques of the oldest existing grappling sports.

Professor Dean is a compassionate carry and highly skilled BJJ instructor. He has been very supportive and helpful with our BJJ program at Sadohana Dojo. We absolutely love having him visit our dojo where he openly shares his passion for the art of Jiujitsu.

I was 42 and looking for a fun to tune myself up and learn a skill at the same time. It didn't take long for the tuning up part all. If your looking for a workout with results this is it. Learning the skill or art of jui jitsu takes time, I'm always learning new things that keep it interesting. I'm on my third year with this club and I've learned alot and met some amazing people along the way.

This was my first jiu jitsu gym, and Dean gave me my first gi! That was over a year and a half ago, and now I'm living and training in Boston. This school instills the love and passion for the sport in all its students, and knows how to build solid competitors from the ground up. They truly are a jiu jitsu family! I always make a point to drop by for a few rolls when I'm in town visiting the in-laws, and they still treat me like a brother whenever I stop by. Love these guys and this gym- 5 stars all around! Ossssss!!

Great classes. They run 5 days a week and we focus on more than just jiu jitsu - we mix it up with Muay Thai boxing and solid, practical self defence classes.
