We humbly acknowledge that we live and work on the traditional and unceded lands of the Quw'utsun peoples. Welcome to the Cowichan Valley Branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA). The association, founded in 1918, is one of Canada's oldest voluntary associations, and is the only one that deals with all aspects of mental health and illness.
The strength of our organization is in its people. We treat all people with respect, honesty and trust, and seek every opportunity to preserve human dignity through equality, fairness, and respecting freedom of choice. The primary focus of this organization, are the rights and needs of persons involved in the mental health system.

Services
The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) is one of the oldest national, charitable organizations in Canada and the oldest national mental health charity. CMHA was founded in 1918 by Dr. Clarence M. Hincks, Dr. Charles K. Clarke, and Clifford W. Beers as the Canadian National Committee for Mental Hygiene.
We have a number of ongoing campaigns to support our work. Depending on your budget or personal preference, you could choose to 'Sponsor a Meal' at the homeless shelter, donate to our 'Lend A Hand' program to help at risk and homeless individuals with unexpected expenses, or even donate to a program in need of support.
Founded in 1918, the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) is the most established, most extensive community mental health organization in Canada. Through a presence in more than 330 communities across every province and one territory, CMHA provides advocacy, programs and resources that help to prevent mental health problems and illnesses, support recovery and resilience, and enable all Canadians to flourish and thrive.
Warmland House Shelter prepares approximately 120 meals daily (breakfast and dinner) for homeless and marginally housed clients - seven days a week, 365 days a year. Donations of nutritional food are always welcome to offset the associated costs, and individuals or groups of friends and/or co-workers are invited to 'Sponsor a Meal'.
Your gift supports the Canadian Mental Health Association-Cowichan Valley Branch in its mission to promote mental health and help those with mental illnesses. Our charitable business number is #13990 5772 RR0001. Receipts will be issued for donations over $20.00. If you have an idea for fundraising campaign, please reach out to our Manager of Community Engagement and Fund Development.

Services available have changed since I was there last. However, they do have a wheelchair ramp but the grade (degree/angle) is steeper than current requirements and my electric wheelchair (had a broken foot) was unable to climb the steep grade. There are many counselling etc. rooms upstairs (no elevator). So check ahead if you will be meeting someone upstairs or on the main level (which is not at ground level).
