In 1986, A-1 Appliance Centre started as a one-man home appliance repair service centre, operating out of an apartment and a pickup truck. The owner, Scott Johns, attended to all of his customer calls personally. Day by day, as his business started growing, he saw an opportunity in repairing and reselling used appliances.
As a result, he set up a small shop to perform repair services on used home appliances. His family members helped him in running his new store and reselling the refurbished machines. Our store had several locations in Fort Erie before we settled at our present site in the downtown area of Ridgeway, ON.
