When Lloyd and Billie Schoenhals opened Falls Pharmacy in 1955, they wanted to offer the community more than just an average pharmacy because, they knew, they had more to offer. At Falls, you get quality pharmacy services at a reasonable cost, in a comfortable atmosphere. What they didn't know is that it would be a cornerstone in the History of Niagara Falls.
Bert worked as a pharmacist at Falls Pharmacy for many years. He was loved by both staff and customers. He is fondly remembered for his fun spirit and sense of humour. Bert loved to accompany the staff on their lunch breaks and was always a joy to have around. His daughter, Michelle, is now a pharmacy assistant at Falls Pharmacy and we are happy to have her!
We call ourselves "The Fab Four" because all together we have 160 years of Community Pharmacy service at Falls Pharmacy. But the Fab Four of Falls Pharmacy could not operate alone. We are supported by the best set of employees on the planet. Mary started with the pharmacy just to pay for her horse lessons.
Every Sunday morning, John would turn on CBC radio and listen to classic music. The staff particularly remembers the hours of "Marches" for the entire Sunday shift. He was a kind man and one of our fond memories about John was that he did not want to see anyone do without their meds and was known to hold a "watch" or a "drivers' license" until the cash to pay was available.
