New patients often come to me with chronic or complex medical problems. We consider the symptoms in the context of the whole person, to help get to the core of your health issue. Treatments include therapeutic diets, botanical medicine, acupuncture, lifestyle counselling (including exercise and stress- management techniques) and nutritional supplements.
Laboratory testing helps to identify the cause of disease. Tests can help to expose biochemical deficiencies, and better understand the causes of your symptoms and/or disease. Some of the tests I send patients for are identical to the tests a traditional GP or referred specialist might prescribe. These OHIP-paid tests are usually looking for a specific issue connected to a specific illness.
Almost all my patients fall into one of two groups, which I call Chronic & Complex and Stay Healthy. You'll find descriptions of both types below. However, I also help with a range of other issues - gastrointestinal issues, IBS, GERD, sleeping, anxiety, etc. The most important question is what is at the root of your chronic symptoms?
Naturopathic Medicine takes a broad and strategic approach to healing. You are likely to encounter any number of experiences that are new to you. This might include new technology (e.g. the Oura ring or continuous glucose monitoring), a more multi-faceted approach and tests that focus on HOW your body is functioning and WHAT it needs more or less of to be well.
