All Gears Driving School in Nanaimo providing 1 on 1 driving lessons for all ages and abilities to ICBC road test standard. My name is Paul Frankcom and I am a Driving Instructor in Nanaimo. I moved to Nanaimo over 10 years ago from the UK. I have helped young and old to learn to drive working with other driving schools before starting my own school in 2016.
I am a parent of 3 teens myself so understand the parent teen relationship and how it can make the learning process challenging for both parent and child. My philosophy on learning to drive is that it should firstly be safe but it should also be FUN! If you are having fun you will learn and be receptive to new ideas and ways of doing things.

Services
Ideal for first time drivers soon after they get their L to ensure that they receive a good foundation to build upon. Lessons can be taken over a period of time or in one block. Note: All ICBC Fees are the responsibility of the student. Road Test must be confirmed with school at the time of booking to confirm availability of car & instructor.
The car will have all the touched surfaces wiped clean between lessons and hand sanitizer is available and encouraged to be used. If you are within your road test booking window (180 days) I am now asking all students to book their own ICBC Road Tests and to confirm with me as to my availability prior to booking lessons.

As someone who put off driving for years due to nerves, not feeling confident, and a lot of fear - Paul was a great fit. Paul is very easy to talk to, makes you feel comfortable during lessons, has easy ways to learn and remember driving maneuvers and will remind you that is okay to make mistakes. Thank you Paul for instilling confidence in my driving skills, helping me to prepare to pass my New Drivers Test and for the road afterwards. I highly recommend All Gears Driving School, you will not be disappointed :)

He is a super awesome teacher, super friendly and makes you feel at ease right away. Super good techniques and very patient and understanding. Just passed my road test 1st try and it was thanks to Paul, I was able to build tons of confidance driving and learn manuvers easily and skillfully. Definitely recommend. As well the pricing is really competitive!

Paul is an excellent driving instructor. He will test your abilities and make you face your fears almost immediately but within reason. He is patient and often had more confidence in what I was capable of than I did! For anybody who is extremely nervous like I was once you take a few lessons things feel much more laidback and it was great getting to know Paul during our countless lessons together. I would not be driving today if it wasn’t for his instruction! Thanks Paul

Paul's skills lesson the day before my son's road test gave him the confidence and fine tuning he needed to pass his test and get his N. Your instructions have stayed with him and he continues to be a conciencious and safe driver. Thank you Paul!

I couldn't recommend anyone more firmly than Paul Frankcom from All Gears Driving School (formerly the instructor of Young Drivers of Canada). His patience, great sense of humor and years of experience all contributed to my passing my N test at ICBC with the senior examiner the FIRST time, sporting a nearly perfect paper and a hearty thank you from the examiner for a good drive. His teachings include Standard and Automatic, and his school cars are an absolute pleasure to use. He was also able to keep an open schedule that was able to accommodate the restrictive hours of adult life. I would recommend

Paul is an excellent driving instructor. I always looked forward to getting in the car with him. Lessons are calm and informative, plus he cracks the occasional joke too! More importantly, he teaches in a way that is easily understood and answers questions clearly. If you are looking for an instructor, Paul is your guy!
