Had a private event there. Very mirthful staff but small selection for beer. Very cooperative with the EMTs.

Had lunch here, set menu.

Surprised the sole was breaded and fried although it was quite tasty albeit greasy. The salad and sides were neat and tidy but perhaps under portioned. The pattypan squash were a great touch.

Decent spot, nothing standout ish.

Wonderful welcoming atmosphere for families. They have done such a great job pivoting through COVID and making members feel safe. The staff provides such a relaxed atmosphere, being there feels like going on vacation in my own city.

Covid rules too stringent and staff in physical confrontation with the members that own the club. Members lives matter, we need to start over with all new management.

The courts were very well maintained. Great sorrounding and has many facilities.
If you are prepared to wait a bit, these courts are the cheapest courts around and not bad at all. They're in a great place. It's a great park with a playground for the kids to play in while you play tennis too.

25 years ago, we considered joining either the Arbutus Club or Van Lawn. The entry price for both clubs were the same at the time. We most likely would have been happy at either club but I have to say that if you want a more intimate club, this is the one. The new renos are great. But strangely, it is neither the facility nor the food that makes the club. It is the members. Yes, some of the members are difficult but if you look around, you can develop some great friendships. This club has been a major point of enjoyment for us over the past 25 years.

The menu is limited, but the food is good. I tried the seafood burger and it was tasty. Speed for serving the food is quite slow, so don't expect a fast meal if you are in a hurry. It is a private club, so you need a membership or have a friend that is a member.

Despite being an extremely happy member of the Terminal City Club, I regret not joining VanLawn years ago, too. Top drawer service, superb kitchen and exceptional facilities. Always a pleasure to be a guest at VanLawn. They clearly care about members and their guests. I can't say enough great things about the place. Well done.

I like the club because there they sever the people with nice food, my dad and I play good tennis there, I think we should try badminton there too (I have not tried it yet)! The only thing I would say is can we have a soccer field outside so we could play soccer outside? Please? Come back to me soon. Thanks a lot.

Extremely rude first experience with the staff. First time in the building and I was on my phone in the hallway because the sign said no talking in the building, only in the foyer. Front desk staff came over and yelled at me while I was on the phone and said I had to step outside (how is that clear with that sign?!). Even who I was speaking to said "who is that, they don't need to yell at you to get their point across". Perhaps it was because I was speaking in Chinese, though English is my first language. Very pretentious and unfriendly staff!

They know how to make a rare beef sandwich PERFECTLY! Quality of Crab claw from the seafood platter is BEAUTIFUL!
GREAT wine selection! Views from the restaurant and patios over looking courts/pool is picturesque.

On to the facility, a beautiful old world club that is befitting to it's size and age. Clay courts, hardcourt, badminton, and the usual pool and gym.

Not going to comment on the membership. They are going through another round of renovations and it's location is a plus!

Just a guest here sometimes, the service is excellent at the bistro but the food is just okay.

Caesar salad: overpriced, no chicken included. Just the basics, romaine lettuce, parm and croutons.

To Go Cobb Salad: mostly just shredded lettuce topped lightly with blue cheese bacon and tomatoes.

Chicken Strips: very average.

Depending if you're a badminton fan, which presumingly one is if spending over $20,000 (monthly fees are extra of course) will do the trick lol.

Decor wise, & ambience, I do appreciate it. Almost like a castle, tradition just oozes with past presidents, winners, etc pictures on the wall.

Now this was last year during a client meeting, so was fortunate to be invited. Actually, $$$ isn't a guarantee as one needs to approved by their board haha. A little snot of exclusitivity lol.

Glorious washrooms as to be expected; love the cloth towels & other amenities included.
