Joined the ALC in 2003, Dr. Martin is an Interventional Radiologist and performs the Endovenous Laser Treatment (EVLT TM) as a replacement for surgery in patients with large varicose veins. He also works full time at St. Paul's Hospital. Joined the ALC in 2007. Mimi has an educational background in nursing, and aesthetics.
The purpose of this clinic is to treat skin lesions, skin problems and other conditions such as snoring, leg veins and hair removal, with the help of sophisticated technology and procedures, in a non-hospital environment. Our staff of fully trained medical professionals will provide you with the highest standard of care.
The Arbutus Laser Center offers a variety of medical and cosmetic non-surgical treatments for the face and body. We carry over 25 different devices in our clinic that are catered to treat most skin types. Consultations are necessary to determine the best treatment options for you. Consultation assessments are performed by either a doctor or skin technician who have years of experience in the laser and skin industry.
Laser energy is selectively being absorbed in the pigment of the hair shaft and follicle. The laser is pulsed for only a fraction of a second, long enough to injure the follicle but not long enough for excess heat to be transferred to the skin surrounding the hair follicle. The result is safe and effective hair removal.
We are having some really good success on blond and red hair, but we assess on a case by case basis. If you have lighter coloured hair, we won't even attempt to treat if you have ANY tan. We have had technology for more than 15 years that would allow us to treat Oprah's bikini line! We can only treat the growth that you have, not the growth that you are going to get as you age.

I got the Pico 15 laser treatment done on sun spots on my face. I had a consultation by Miko and the treatment by Dr. Mintz. They were very professional, kind and caring. I only got one session done on some very dark spots and now they are 99% gone. I would recommend Arbutus Laser to anyone who wants to get rid of sun spots.

He has excellent judgement in how the desired outcome should look. You will never be over-done.
Pico for tattoo removal does take a while depending on the size, age, location and colour of the ink. I would say a minimum of 5 treatments for the removal. I'm still in the process and I think for it to be completely removed will be another 2-3 sessions.

I went to Arbutus Skin Laser Centre exactly one week ago, I had some dermatosis papaluso nigra which looks like teeny tiny moles but really not moles I had a few well lets just say I had about 30 of them on my neck I dont believe it its all gone scab formed and it fell off just a bit of redness Im assuming there will be some hyperpigmentation which I have a cream I will use to remove that...but so far none at the moment .. Dr. Donald Mintz thank you so much for removing these for me with the C02 laser ill be back for some other things I would like to get done in a little bit great staff as well

This is a fantastic and professional laser centre. I can’t recommend it enough. They don’t do packages because everyone requires a different number of treatments for laser hair removal and they don’t want people to spend more than they have to. There is an in-house doctor that you see prior to beginning your treatment and they will do a test patch for you as well. I went to Amy for my sessions and she is beyond friendly and professional and did such a great job. I have had friends go to other places and spend far more than I did with very mediocre results. The reason why I am giving 1 star bcoz of Julie, I missed my appointment and it is totally my fault and I feel bad for sure but the point the Arbutus Laser Center didnt call or text me to remind my appointment and Julie called me and she totally sounded not nice for sure. She was saying she has so many patients and I need to keep up my appointment but i have to fly out for my business trip all the time and i am sorry that i can come back to spend my $ on her with appointment. Firstly, they told me that I'd need to come in for a consultation with their doctor. If I got a referral from my family doctor, the consultation fee of 175 dollars would be covered. If I did not get a referral from my doctor i would have to pay. Forget transparency around the costs. The woman WOULD NOT give me a quote!!!
'124 per area', she said. I asked for an example of an area. She would not tell me. So, I asked 'for example, would a person's nose be considered an area'?. No response. Obviously

I have gone to 2 other laser clinics and this is the first one that told me the truth! They sent me to electrolysis because lasers won't work on me. Dermal Laser treated me and another place that is closed. Any business that is honest and loses money in doing so is a business that needs to be applauded. I would definitely recommend it. I've been coming to Arbutus for my laser tattoo removal. I'm currently having treatments on two different spots, and I am very satisfied with the process so far! I found the technicians and office staff to be very pleasant and informative. However, I was disturbed by Dr.Mintz behavior and attitude towards patient care. I had V-Beam done to reduce redness for stretch marks on a Wed. I went back on a Friday to show a small patch (3-4 pulses) that he clearly missed in the area. I wasn't angry but waited patiently for 25 minutes to show him the missed patch thinking he would correct his error. I had already paid for the service. He was rude and dismissive saying that he would do it on my next session. I shared that I don't want to pay for a second

I've been going to Arbutus Laser Centre for the last few years for laser hair removal. I really appreciate Arbutus Laser Centre & their staff for being so timely with their sessions. My work schedule is sporadic so I really dislike having to wait around too long. It's fantastic when the front desk staff are able to get you in at the time you made an appointment for!
Sarah has always been so great about working with me through the session and before I know it, it's over! After a few sessions, I no longer needed to come in, nor did I ever have to shave/wax or anything like that

Ladies do yourselves a huge favor, save your money and nerves and never come to this place! I have booked an appointment to consult how to possibly combine treatments (velashape+ultrashape) to see a better result on the cellulite and have the velashape done on the day of as well. I have initially had velashape done here in October 2015 and was hesitant to come back because the technician Jen is so negative and discouraging. I decided to get my eyebrow tattoo removed because it has been above my real eyebrows for a very long time and was embarrassed to take my makeup off without being paranoid that people are looking at me weirdly. I finally did it and the process was quick and simple. The laser technician walked me through it and then did the "test" on me that actually removed all the pigmentation. I rave about this place to all the women I know that are interested in getting laser hair removal done! I finished all my treatments here and I was always very impressed with their cleanliness and service each and every time.

I had one appointment here and I found the staff rushed and unprofessional. The facility was not very clean either.
Soon after, I discovered from two friends who visited Arbutus that their skin was severely burned by the technicians. One friend's burn was so bad (burgundy and white burns on olive skin) that she couldn't walk or wear clothing on the area for one whole week. This happened two weeks before her honeymoon which, she had to cancel due to the second-degree burns. I visited Arbutus with her to show the Doctor the skin damage and the Doctor and clinician were both visibly shocked
