Our name comes from the Italian musical term "Da Capo", which translates to "from the top" - hence our slogan: "Teaching music from the top!" At DCAM, we offer private music lessons to students of all ages and skill levels and also prepare them for RCM exams (Royal Conservatory of Music), recitals, auditions, and competitions.
We strongly believe that playing a musical instrument makes life richer, more interesting and more colourful. We are proud to be able to impart this skill to our students. We listen to our students and parents carefully and do our best to tailor their lessons in a way that would best meet their individual goals, abilities, and interests.
Piano is the most popular instrument in the world - and for many good reasons. It's very visual, extremely expressive, and, unlike many other instruments, allows us to play a large number of notes at the same time. It's sort of like having a whole orchestra at your fingertips! But as a wise man once said (and as many experienced pianists will tell you): "It's easy to play the piano, but it's hard to play it well".

Whether you want to play in a band, improve your sense of rhythm, or just enjoy yourself - there is no denying that drums are just an all-round fun instrument to play. In our studio, we incorporate real song tracks into our lessons so that you get a genuine playing experience! At 6, most children are grown enough to have a comfortable reach around the drums and are mentally ready to get the maximum benefit from their lessons.

Very pleased with the drumming instruction I receive from Raul and the support Terry and team provide. My lessons consist of rudiments, exercises from a drumming instruction book and songs (some recommended by Raul but most of my choosing). This combination has helped me to build by skills and keep my interest in learning to drum. I also appreciate the ability to continue my lessons remotely using Zoom during the Covid crisis. We came for a Toddler Music Class. The Academy is in the basement of the Humbertown Shopping Centre. There is lots of free packing available. The Academy has a great atmosphere with welcoming and smiling faces. The teacher was fantastic with the children. Very patient, talented and friendly. She sang kids songs and encouraged everyone to sing along. The kids were able to touch and play with lots of instruments. I will definitely be going back.

I have been studying piano with Oksana for 10 years now and Terry was my music theory instructor. Both are very caring and highly qualified teachers and I would recommend the school to anyone hoping to learn music. They have put in a lot effort to prepare me for my examinations and with their help I have achieved high grades and developed a passion for music.
