Mindful Therapies
We are a specialized mental health clinic offering evidence-based therapy and psychological assessment services to older adolescents and adults. Every one of our clients has our respect: for their decision to confront what is difficult, their commitment to grow through pain, and the strength it takes to step towards change.

We're here to listen deeply and provide tools, strategies and new skills to help our clients resolve conflicts, make choices, heal, strengthen and reconnect with the people and joy in their lives. As a private clinic, we're unable to handle emergency situations. If you are in crisis, please call the Mental Health Mobile Crisis Team at 902-429-8167 / 1-888-429-8167 (Toll Free), 911 or attend your nearest emergency department.

Despite our best knowledge and intentions, sometimes we behave in ways we know are unhealthy. Eliminating undesirable habits, patterns and behaviours has little to do with desire and will power, and much more to do with practical structures that support you in choosing to be your best self.

We'll help you not only understand why a behavior (like unhealthy eating, self-medicating, infidelity, gambling, risky behaviors etc.) continues, but work with you to create the goals and plans to achieve positive and sustainable change. We also support clients in overcoming addiction, or who are affected by a loved one's addiction.
We currently offer evidence-based trauma therapy to Veteran's and first responders, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Prolonged Exposure (PE), and Cognitive Processing Therapy. We also offer Psychological assessments for diagnostic clarification and treatment planning.
Individual appointments are 50 minutes in length (plus 10 minutes for administrative work). Psychology sessions are $225 and Social Work is $160. Fees for paperwork, file preparation or phone calls related to your care are also billed at our standard clinician rates. Yes, we offer direct billing for most major carriers, including Blue Cross, Great West Life, and SunLife.
We are currently accepting applications for full-time registered Social Workers (MSW), or Psychologists (Masters or Doctoral Level). Clinicians have the option to work from home across Nova Scotia, or based out of our Dartmouth, NS clinic. Compensation is competitive, and includes benefits and educational support.

This is a unique and exceptional facility in the heart of the city which provides a fantastic range of mindfulness and talking therapies and at a very low rate compared with other similar enterprises. The Mindfulness Teachers are the best around and I’ve been to a great number of teachers both online and in person in the last 4 years. The talking therapists and counsellors are available with usually a very short waiting list which is more than can be said for the NHS metal health services for which I had a 2 year wait! I cannot thank the staff here enough for the support I have received in the

Mindful Therapies is a great place, it is very inviting and provides a feeling of community. They run a variety of classes both online and in person at different times to suit all people. The mindfulness instructors are well qualified and are very friendly and supportive to help you feel welcome and to help you get the best out of your practice. The drop in classes are run on a pay what you can donation basis. As well as the regular classes they also run fun events throughout the year such as litter picks and a Christmas fair. Would definitely recommend checking them out as anyone can benefit from
