Sit down, have a scotch and wait for Amar to call you to his chair. Once seated, the conversation is great and the skill and attention to detail is second to none. If you have a beard and need a cut and trim/shape this is the place to come. Straight razor shave followed by a hot towel and as Amar says, You're Beautiful!!

I can confidently say that Amar did an excellent job. He really listened to what I wanted, took a good look at the pictures I had as reference (not just a distracted look as many other barbers/hairdressers do), and gave advice. This is the first time in many years that I am truly satisfied with a haircut. Thanks Amar!!

I just popped in for a quick hair cut (sci fi style) and these guys in there helped me out, figured out what i wanted and gave me some good suggestions on how to wear it. Top off that its a cool place with a great atmosphere and you have a easy 5 stars :).

I've known about Amar ever since I started getting my haircut back when 971 Hornby Street was Regal Barbers. Without going into detail why, I started looking for a new barber after having been a Regal customer since 2014. I was so happy to see that Amar opened up Everest Barbers and even better.. he has brought back a limited amount of membership packages! (http://www.everestbarbers.com/silver-membership/)

I'm extremely picky about my haircuts. First off Amar is incredibly consistent. Nothing is worse than finding a good haircut and coming back to the same person and getting something completely different when you ask for the same thing. I'm writing a review on behalf of the boy (he doesn't use Yelp...lucky for him, his girlfriend does!)
The boyfriend needed a last minute haircut for an interview the next day, and sadly, all the barbers in the area were booked full.
We walked into Everest on a whim when we were passing by (after giving up on getting a haircut that day.)
We were pleasantly surprised! Amar accepted us as his last client on the day (they were closing already, but he gladly squeezed us in.)
The boy asked for a natural, short look, and a natural short look was what he got!

I'm not a big fan of haircuts, and I actually used to cut it as short as possible to avoid line-ups, randomness and surprises. Until I met Amar, that is.
Booking online is awesome. The experience and service is top notch: professional, friendly, family-like atmosphere. Spending time with Charlie (parrot) or Everest (puppy) turns the waiting time into a playful, fun experience. Amar is super professional and I've had nothing but amazing service each and every time during the last 6 months or so that I've been stopping by.

Amar has revolutionized barbering. What can I say about the man who has made me look fresh for 8+ years? Do you want to look your best? Go to Everest. Do you want to be jealous of how fresh you look? Go to Everest.

Simply the best. Never had a better straight razor shave or haircut. Typically, I view haircuts and shaves as a chore, but at Everest, it was not only enjoyable but a memorable experience. Amar is truly creating something new, relaxed, personal. I'll have to fly out to Vancouver for my haircuts from now on. And it will be worth it.
