Steve’s Bistro is hallowed grounds in our neighbourhood. This is in part due to Steve and his outstanding staff. If Steve isn’t greeting you at the door, he’ll make sure to visit your table during your visit. His teams food is absolutely amazing and about as traditional Greek as you can get this side of Crete. If you want to partake in a few post meal beverages this is the place. Again, outstanding atmosphere coupled with equally great service and great prices.

Steve's Bistro has become a regular attendance for us for breakfast, lunch and dinners. What keeps us coming back?...The friendly and attentive staff and also the consistency of preparation of the dishes. You can always count on Steve and his staff preparing your meals with a touch of Greek flavor and you can trust that it will always be consistently great. Today was no exception when 6 of us attended for breakfast and we had the Greek omelette, BLT and of course the Winnipeger. We highly recommend Steve's Bistro as your destination.

Good service and food. Pleasantly surprised with happy hour. Great deal. Server was very friendly and attentive. We were deep in conversation and catching up with a friend and the server new when to come to the table and when we appreciated being left alone. Good place to meet with friends. Great cocktails.

I’ve been to Steve’s Bistro a number of times over the years and it’s a decent place. The food is generally pretty good. And Steve, the owner, is super friendly and will stop by your table to check in on you and strike up a conversation. The restaurant is nicely decorated and has a comfortable feel. However, I find that the food can be inconsistent – i.e., the beef dip can sometimes be amazing and other times just average. But when the food is good, it's quite good. I just wish it was consistently so. On the past few visits I’ve ordered soft drinks and it’s always tasted a bit off.

Cute place with friendly staff. The owner made the rounds at each table asking about the meal and evening. I had the gyro with fries and Greek salad and hubbie had the Portabella mushroom burger. He enjoyed his meal more than I did. The gyro meat was crispy and little dry. The fries were great and good portion of salad (little lacking on flavour). That being said the place is really cute and comfortable, the food arrived super fast so we will give this another chance in the future.

Went with a large party and got a seemingly unending series of appetizers. Lamb burger sliders with tzatziki were the highlight of the night- toasted pitas as buns- juicy, well seasoned, pickles were a good touch to help cut the richness.
Both the chorizo and vegetarian pizzas were excellent in terms of flavour- piled high with toppings without being overkill. Recommend the former. Overall could have been improved by crust being thinner however.
Calamari was crispy, tender, but underseasoned. Great touch to have a yogurt dipping sauce however. Would recommend the bruschetta pita to balance the

I hadn't been here in close to 20 years, mainly because I had moved out of the area. A friend and I tried it out a few weeks ago - we were really impressed. The server was friendly and knowledgable. The steak sandwich was a really good cut. The Greek salad had their own in-house made dressing. As we were eating the owner came out of the kitchen to ask how our meals were. That's definitely a great touch. We'll make a point of going back!

The one thing for certain at Steve's, is when he is in the 'house' he will spend time with making certain you feel like a valued customer. That is fantastic.
We wanted to celebrate a family event and they accommodated our group with ease. The service was friendly and attentive. While we were waiting for our main courses our waitress asked if we wanted the meal for our younger guest to be served early. Now THAT is thinking! Nicely done.
We had a host of different mains. The soup and salad was excellent with a generous portion of the salad. The Island stir fry was an ideal

We went to Steve's Bistro for a intimate dinner at a place that neither me or my girlfriend had tried before and came across Steve's on yelp and thought we would give it a try. We came in late and close to the end of the night at 9:00 when the closing time is 10:00. We were a little worried that they may not be taking tables that late on a weekday but we were greeted and seated by Steve as soon as we walked in. We were immediately struck by the very warm and cozy atmosphere of the Bistro. We were then greeted by our friendly server who took our drink orders. We ordered two appetizers

Steve's Bistro is easily in my top 3 favourite Winnipeg restaurants. Definitely a hidden gem as from the outside you would never guess it is a such a charming restaurant (infant you would probably just assume it is still the greasy spoon it once was!)
My girlfriend and I frequent Steve's for date nights. The charming romantic setting and warm personal experience from Steve and his girls has made for a great evening every time.
The dips are a fantastic starter and bursting with flavor, the rack of lamb was cooked to perfection all 3 times I had it. The customizable burgers make a

I work in the area and find Steve's Bistro to be a great place for lunch. The authentic Greek Salad is fantastic as is the Veggie Panini. Haven't been since the addition of the patio but it's about time a west end restaurant got the vision. Looks great and doesn't take away from parking. Wednesday night is now includes live music and it's a good idea to show up early.

A beautiful local eatery with charm and a certain personal emphasis. Steve has really done a smashing job with the interior of the restaurant with modern furnishings, lightening and sound system. This is a nice place for an intimate gathering.
The food was a-OK. Perhaps not the best Greek food in the city of Winnipeg, but palatable. I was fortunate enough to dine on their pepper shrimp appetizer, which was very nicely done and seasoned. My entree was a chicken gyro with a very hearty side of veggies. The gyro was dry and not authentic. The Greek garlic yogurt was bland. The pita was not as fresh

The restaurant is located in a strip mall with a pretty blah exterior but the decor inside is very warm and stylish creating a cozy and inviting ambiance. This is a great little bistro with good prices. I don't understand why Marion Warhoft (Wpg Free Press) went on and on about how high their prices are - so typical of Winnipeg to complain when a dish costs more than $10. I understand this was "Steve's Place" - a burger joint for many years before he renovated it last year and turned it into the current Mediterranean bistro style menu. Starters are $8-$11 and there are grilled
