Natural Mattress is a small (but dedicated) team. Cabinetmaker Andrew Moir designs and builds mattresses, furniture, and bedding products. He undertakes these projects with the finest craftsmanship, utilizing natural materials and the healthiest textiles. We're proud to say that everything we do is designed with the needs of the human body and environmental sustainability in mind.
We build custom mattresses and furniture, hand-made by co-founder and cabinetmaker Andrew Moir right here in Calgary, Alberta. We've worked with clients on custom end tables, bed frames, vintage beds, kitchen tables, and many other commissions. Placing a custom order is simple and easy. After talking with Andrew and explaining what you're looking for, Andrew will provide you with a sketch, quote, and timeline with no obligations.

We had Natural Mattress make us a large custom mattress (8’ x 8’) and wood platform. From start to finish Andrew made the experience so easy, answering all of my questions and making a great product. Even a few weeks after we had the mattress my partner was finding his side too firm and Andrew helped us rectify the situation with no issues. I love our mattress, the platform is simple and beautiful, and I’m happy that we could support a local maker.

I first found out about Natural Mattress at Market Collective December 2018 and I fell in love with their mattresses on the spot. As a person that moves and travels a lot, I'm pretty picky about my sleep and had some weird size requests that Mark went above and beyond to accommodate and trouble shoot with me (seriously, so many emails and conversations, this guy cares). When it comes to to replace or add a mattress, I will definitely be coming back here.

Karen and I had a wonderful experience dealing with Andrew and Mark in selecting and purchasing our new mattress. They listened to our issues with our current mattress and were very helpful in determining our needs. The entire process was professional and seamless.
As for the mattress, we are delighted. Not only did our sleep improve but our hip pains were gone, literally over night. Also, I tend to move around a lot and get up frequently during the night. Karen always complained that that would wake her up. Now she doesn't notice at all. Brilliant.

I was wanting to replace my organic wool futon that I had been using as a couch with something more "grown up", but still chemical free. Well... purchasing a chemical-free couch in Calgary turned out to be next-to-impossible - at least, if you want to spend less than 8k to have one shipped from the USA. So... I started investigating the possibility of having one made. I thought if I could reuse my futon frame, since I had stained it myself and it was solid wood, maybe I could find someone who would work with me to build cushioning for it....

We LOVED working with these guys and would highly recommend their products. We purchased our mattress about 4 months ago and haven't had any issues at all. I’m from Manitoba... I bought a double mattress, a wool pillow & a latex pillow. I found natural mattress & furniture searching online for a natural fibre mattress... I instantly loved this company’s product & beliefs!!! And they are Canadian 😍 😊 I’ve had my mattress for over a year and it’s wonderful.. medium firm but still a softness... it’s clean & smells great... no chemical yuck smell. Mark was very helpful with the challenge of a long distance blind purchase... he was always available by phone to help me decide.. he is very smart about beds & the position we sleep in

Happiest mattress purchase ever, found out about Natural Mattress at a pop-up market at the perfect time when we were looking into upgrading our bed. I was happy to be able to find something not full of caustic chemicals and fire-repellent sprays that was also extremely affordable and made with natural materials by two great local guys! We've had our mattress for almost 2 years now and I still sleep soundly on it. I love that you can go in and try them out and it's one on one so it is a lot less awkward then when you go to a large chain mattress store, you don't feel rushed and weird and pressured

Couldn't be happier with the bed frame that Andrew created for me! It's as much art as it is furniture! He did floating side tables with an awesome headboard and platform frame and knew exactly what I wanted before I did. The bed is all solid wood and is built to last a lifetime. It is also great to know that it was made locally and I was contributing back to the Calgary economy. While it costs more than an Ikea bed, it is worth every single penny.

Most comfortable bed I've ever slept on. I prefer a fairly firm mattress, and was skeptical after sitting on one of Natural Mattress's beds that it wasn't quite firm enough. Mark assured me that as soon as I lay down and curl into a position I actually sleep in, it would be perfect. He was 100% correct and this mattress is, I will state again, the most comfortable bed I've ever slept on. The layers of wool and hemp sleep incredibly cool, and the same goes for their wool pillows. Their customer service is excellent as well! Highly recommend for all of your sleep-related needs.
