Ian is a partner in a full service Calgary and area Criminal Defence Law Firm, Savage Oykhman. Ian is an active member of the Law Society of Alberta and has defended cases in Alberta and Saskatchewan over the past 27 years. He has practiced exclusively in the area of criminal defence law since 1992.

Assault can be defined as "the intentional application of force to a person without their consent". Thus, assault charges can be laid in a wide variety of situations ranging from very minor applications of force, like grabbing someone, to much more serious actions, like kicks, punches, and even choking.

If your looking for a good lawyer, choose this firm. Ian savage successfully had my IRS charge dropped completely. He is professional, timely, responsive, straight to the point, the list goes on. After feeling completely helpless I ended up hiring a lawyer to fight charges I was faced with. I genuinely felt there was no hope for my case to be dismissed, but it was. Very professional team! I was in a hopeless situation with criminal charges looming over me, seizure of a large collection of firearms. I worked with Elaine Ng, roughly a year ago.
Not only was she very affordable, but every question I had she answered it did not charge me more.
I was extremely worried that things would go very poorly for me.
Not only did Elaine travel to the destination which was not in Calgary for my court date which is over an hour away, but I did not have to appear in court at all.
She did everything possible I don’t know what else to say other than there was no extra fees
