Dr. Brooks received her Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree from the University of Ottawa in the field of Kinesiology in 2005. After volunteering for various health care entities and being an avid sports enthusiast and competitive athlete she realized the importance of a well-balanced body and quickly became interested in how to rehabilitate the unhealthy body.
When diagnosing injury, it is important to determine whether the injury is sudden or acute or whether it is repetitive such as a strain or sprain, where a twisting or over-extension of a joint can strain muscle or tendon or sprain a ligament. Depending on the severity of the tear in the tissue, the treatment may range from a day of rest to surgery.
Massage therapy is a hand's on treatment that dates back over 300 years in which your Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) acts on the muscular, nervous and circulatory systems. Much like a Chiropractor, your RMT will establish a personalized regime based on your initial assessment. Massage therapy can reduce heart rate, lower blood pressure and increase blood circulation and lymph flow.
This is one of a kind place. Excellent health care both chiropractic and massage. You are treated in a unique way and special to your condition. Plenty of soft tissue work before any adjustments are made. The knowledge and experience of the staff is amazing. You always leave feeling much better.
