Orthotics are custom-made inserts that fit inside shoes. Their purpose is to restore natural foot movement. Orthotics allow joints to be aligned correctly and promote efficient transmission of the forces of standing, walking, jogging, running and jumping. As a result, they help to reduce foot, back and leg pain by improving function and efficiency.
Cancer is a disease that has touched almost all our lives either personally or through family members and friends. Cancer treatment, consisting of some combination of chemotherapy, radiation, surgery, and/or immunotherapy may eradicate the tumour but often leaves us struggling to regain the quality of life we had prior to their cancer diagnosis.
Renuka obtained her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto in 1998. She obtained her clinical experience while working a number of years in both the hospital setting and private practice. She is also a member of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, as well as their oncology division.
