Dolyn Developments
After serving literally hundreds of satisfied clients and executing over $170 Million in construction, a great deal of experience has been gained, and many friends made. It is owned solely by its operators Douglas and Lynne Burnside and has been since its inception. Dolyn has endured and thrived during both the weak and strong market conditions and has always maintained excellent financial strength and delivery of quality projects.

It was in preparation for our 30th year that we set out to achieve our goal of separating our Property Portfolio and Property Management from our Construction activities. To do this we have launched Dolyn Construction Ltd. which is the same personnel as before operating under a new banner. Douglas Burnside, President of Dolyn Developments Inc., is a two-time Past- President of the General Contractors Association of Ottawa.
Services
Dolyn constructs plazas, stand-alone commercial pad-buildings for banks, restaurants and other retail locations. Dolyn has undertaken a large amount of heritage-related projects and is in good standing with the Heritage Groups and stakeholders. We have constructed manufacturing facilities and hi-tech labs typical to Kanata's Hi-Tech Sector.
Two pits were excavated within an existing building in order to accommodate a flight simulator. Within these pits a thick concrete slab was made with 2 octagonal hollow cylinders in. Pearl Plaza, a Design Build Project, was the construction of a single storey commercial building on a "Brownfield Site".

I just wanted to touch base with you to let you know how happy I am with the finished product at Mann's Village Square. Your company dealt with the evolving situation during the repairs to the building in an exemplary fashion. I know that many of the hidden problems that you had to address resulted in significant impacts to your schedule(s) and resulted in you having to provide additional services and work.
In 2014 Dolyn Construction Ltd. after having been on the hunt for several years for a new place to call home, purchased a tired old building of 10,500 sq. The building is approximately 65 years old and had been used initially as the central headquarters for the Canadian Banknote Company followed by a subsidiary thereof, followed by Dy4 Systems, a High Tech Military Contractor, then Lomor Printers.
