Here at Applecross Veterinary Hospital, we always welcome new clients and patients to our full service veterinary practice in Nanaimo. We know you will be very happy with our services. Our veterinarians and staff are devoted to staying on top of the latest diagnostics, treatments, and wellness programs to maintain your pet's optimal health.
As a new client of our Veterinary Hospital in Nanaimo, you can expect our full attention to your pets' needs. When you arrive for your appointment, you will be greeted warmly, and we'll usher you into an examination room after checking in your pet. In most cases, one of our veterinary technicians will start by asking about your pet's medical history, current condition and the reason for your visit, gathering data for the doctor.
This will save you time when picking up your order. Please allow 24 hours for order processing. Do not come to the clinic until you have received confirmation to pick up your order. Note: Some prescriptions will require an examination of your pet prior to re-filling. Many prescriptions require your pet to be examined before dispensing.
A diagnostic is a medical test that allows your doctor to rule out, or diagnose, a potential health condition which is discussed during your pet's general health exam. At Applecross Veterinary Hospital, we offer a variety of diagnostic tests that cater to your pet's individual concerns. Most of these tests can be performed in clinic, in our in-house laboratory, which offers fast and efficient results for you and your pet.
Wellness Plans are a group of preventive medicine products and services offered to our clients at a discounted rate and billed monthly. Preventive Medicine is products and services that will help prevent future disease, or allow for earlier treatment of existing or developing disease. For example: annual blood work, dental cleanings, etc.

Duke is so precious to me 12 1=2. I adopted him as a rescue. He came to me in a very dark time when my late husband was diagnosed with cancer. He was by my side every day. He has his companion dog status, but as the years pass things change. We were very concerned about his crying and snapping so took him in to see Dr, Koo. He will go for a while yet. If it wasn’t for the clinic I would be lost. Great staff, caring and very professional

We have both our dogs on the wellness plan here as they are very accident prone. Applecross has a team of staff who are all wonderful, they truly care about our boys and are quick to respond and squeeze us in whenever there is an urgent need! The wellness plan is super affordable and covers most of our yearly needs, highly recommend going for this rather than pet insurance!

If you are looking for a vet, this is the place to go. I had a serious emergency with my dog and my regular vet wasn't open. Applecross took us in immediately and performed emergency surgery, saving her life. Dr. Koo was so kind and compassionate during a very stressful situation. Also, although the incision was huge, my dog barely has a scar. We'll be going to Applecross from now on.

Applecross was super amazing with me and my doggo Bugsie. ❤️ They were very understanding and super helpful with all questions and concerns I had. Bugsie is a 5lb. Chihuahua and he gets super super cold, so I brought him in with a heated blanket and they kept him nice and warm for me, no questions asked. Usually Bugsie comes back a little sad, cold and disoriented from vet appointments, but this time he looked happy, warm, and content. It just felt so much better after appointments with Applecross. I highly recommend this place.

I needed to find a same day appointment for my dog, and Applecross did all they could to fit me in. I was very impressed by their kindness and by their most excellent veterinary care. (Thank you Dr. Westworth!) My dog was well cared for, and the cost was most reasonable. I would highly recommend this office and would use them again in the future.
