I asked what I asked for last time - cut, colour and partial foil. I got barely a trim, which I got barely a trim at full cut price, full foils which are 100$ more and a really brassy colour which was NOT what I got last time. I called and "they" said "they" would discuss it. Which should have taken 5-10 minutes and then told it would be told it would be 3 hours later. I demanded to speak to the manager much faster, they said it would then take 10 minutes. I'm irate. My hair looks like crap. I'm going to have to go get it fixed elsewhere. Their lighting is awfully

I've been coming to Carrie'l for years and though all the staff are complete professionals and fantastic at what they do, their new RMT Alina is outstanding! she seems to know exactly how to work out every kink, takes time to educate you on what she's doing and how it will benefit you. The most relaxing therapeutic massage I've ever had!

Recently went back to the salon for a pedicure. I used to get my hair done here before I moved. The set up for pedis is nice - cute little room with 4 massage chairs. The chairs were comfy and had ample massage/position choices. Staff were friendly and very welcoming (this is where the 2 stars come from!).
The pedicure itself however was...meh. The woman was friendly but my polish (shellac) wasn't done very nicely and looked sloppy. I actually debated asking to have it redone but it just felt too awkward. The bottom of my feet weren't very dry but she didn't really take any of

I recommend this spa for massages for sure! Elfrieda is a skilled RMT, who is very professional warm & friendly. I love feeling pampered with the fluffy housecoats (where did they buy those, they are amazing) to the relaxing massage where Elfrieda actually listens to you. Best money spent & I keep going back for more.

Had a job interview here that I was extremely excited about, I’ve done a million interviews in my lifetime and really had a good feeling about it! I was asked to come in for a shadow shift and was told I’d be… emailed later in the evening to let me know what time this would take place. I never heard back from the manager. No email, no phone call, nothing. Extremely unprofessional and immature especially from a management standpoint. I wouldn’t bother applying here, and because of this experience I’ll be sure to steer clear of their services as well

What an amazing, incredible place. The staff are all so amazing, it’s easy going and relaxing, professional and organized. The place is beautiful, with rock floors and fountains and beautiful decor. We had such a wonderful time. It was our (twins) 40th and we will never forget the day. Thank you Carrie’l!!

In one visit, it was both a 5 star experience and a 1 star experience. We were a group of 3, all getting pedicures. Of the 3 estheticians, it was very clear that two of them were very experienced, knowledgeable, and passionate. The third was less so, but not bad. Overall, the experience was good. Everyone was happy, and our pedicures were well done and lasted.

I've been a client here for years and while their services can be pricey they do provide great service and often have special promotions. Shanyn is amazing as are many of the other staff at the spa. I've only had my hair done here once as the prices are out of my reach but when I did the service was excellent . The owner and staff are really also genuinely interested in understanding how they can improve ( which is always a plus). I'll continue to be a client as long as they keep on providing such great service.

I get a pedicure less often than once/year so when I saw the Groupon for Carrie'l for a very reasonable price, I bought one. I waited until shortly before it was going to expire so I could have a nice pedi for spring and called to book my appointment. My schedule changed a few hours later so I called to reschedule it for a few days earlier and they were very accommodating and I booked for the 10AM appointment. I've always been curious about Carrie'l, I live nearby but was somewhat deterred by their high prices (a standard manicure is $62 - that's your basic buff, file and polish, the same service I get at my favorite little salon for $25!) Recently I saw a Groupon offering $49 for "Gel Manicure with Warm Hydrating Hand Mask" - regular price $102 - so I jumped at the chance to try it.
Booking the appointment was easy, they have an online system where you just choose the service you want as well as the time and the service provider. There wasn't an option for the hydrating

My bf lives in chicago and I live in edmonton. I booked a couple massage "tea time" for us. One month in advance. The first time I called the lady on the phone said their computer is down she will write down the reservation and confirm via email and phone. It did not happen so me being smart called back to confirm it was booked.guess what it wasn't...finally I rebooked everything was set in stone ...since I had a bad experience and my bf was only in town for the weekend and it was a birthday gift to him I emailed carriel to send me an email confirming the booking they wrote back

I started with this Spa in Sept. 2014. I had heard advertisements that they provided pain free laser hair removal, and I wanted to get my upper lip done. I went 3 times to give them a fair chance. For 150.00 for 10 minutes I would not recommend this place to anyone. The person who provided my treatment could have cared less that I was comfortable (pain free) or not. She want me in...out and leave her a nice tip! Stay far away, it is not pain free and they certainly don't care 1 bit about a client experience.

On the rare occasion that i get my hair done, i indulge myself and go here. The staff is wonderful, caring, and accommodating. They make it feel like a Spa even if you're just having a hair cut. I've been fortunate in not being rushed when i do go because i happen to have had appointments which were not immediately followed by another person. I like when a stylist takes the extra time to make sure i'm content with what's done, and the fact that i can come back in to have it corrected if something is off is a bonus.

Carrie'l have completely outdone themselves with their new notification system! I get text messages to remind me of my appointments! FANTASTIC
Also they have the best stylist and colourists in the city!! Lindsey is by far the best hair dresser I have ever had. I would be lost without her!

Nice full service salon. But for most people it is all about your own stylist and they do seem to come and go from here a lot. I do like that you can book on-line and that there is a 10% discount on Tuesdays which is good because a cut and single colour is about $150 not including tip.

I love Carrie'l, partly because I know Carrie and absolutely adore her and her family. The salon always does an amazing job and I can be a picky client. The staff is very knowledgable about how to dye one color to another and fix color disasters. They are also very concious about not drying your hair out by giving you hydration treatments. There is usually someone around offering complementary hand massages. What more could a girl ask for?

My regular waxer moved to this location from the whyte avenue salon she was at previously. I only went here because she moved here.
I know she is a good waxer and so I decided to take a chance and go to this salon instead. I know that everyone has to have different prices, but I was annoyed that I was paying almost $25 more for the exact same service I received from her only a couple months ago. I didn't find the experience any more uplifting due to the new location.
I decided to not go back, not because the service was not good (it always was), but because I could not fathom paying $25
