Welcome to Southern Alberta Institute of Massage (S.A.I.M.), a private institution established in 1995 for the sole purpose of providing exceptional training for Massage Therapists.

It is our goal to train competent and professional "Massage Therapists" thereby ensuring quality Massage Therapists to more than adequately fulfil the rising demand in the Massage Therapy field. Our Massage Therapy Program is licensed under the Private Vocational Training Act. Our school also operates in conjunction with a professional clinic for hands-on experience in a professional setting.
Services
Southern Alberta Institute of Massage (S.A.I.M.) is run in conjunction with established working therapeutic massage and chiropractic clinics. The curriculum has been professionally designed and reflects the most current techniques in massage and natural health care. S.A.I.M. offers an accelerated time line diploma program (one and a half years) to enable students to get into the workforce sooner as there is such a demand for Massage Therapists.
Through lectures and lab work, students will be exposed to a thorough knowledge of the human body and the functions associated with the structures and systems. AP I introduces and studies cytology, histology, integumentary, skeletal system, and physiological aspects of each. Basic system specific pathologies are also addressed.
The instructor must take proper care and precautions in the planning and supervision of academic work so that an honest effort is encouraged. The instructor is encouraged to communicate the requirements and materials allowed for assignments, tests, and examinations. The instructor or substitute Instructors are responsible for the supervision of all tests and examinations.
A student loan is financial aid for students and is intended to supplement your financial resources for education costs. You must have a thorough understanding of loan obligations and terms, be cognizant about repayment assistance programs, and employ financial management skills to manage debt load.
At S.A.I.M. you receive 2200 hours training in the 2200 hour Advanced Diploma program which includes 1000 Hours in the first year and 1200 Hours in the second year. Upon receiving your Diploma, you will then apply for registration and will be qualified to work as a Registered Massage Therapist.

Please note that, upon successful completion of the first year (1000 Hours), you will receive a 1000 hour Certificate and you will be able to practice Massage Therapy, however insurance companies require a 2200 Hour Diploma in order to work on insurance clients.Each Jurisdiction has its own licensing requirements.
