I am Dr. Nik Tchaouchev. Dr. Nik is how my patients call me, for obvious reasons. I have had this office for the last 10+ years. It has been a lot of fun! I knew that dentistry was a rewarding profession, but I never knew it is going to be THIS much fun. Of course, I have been blessed with the best patients one can hope for - fun, friendly, and honest.
I also practice in the best part of the world - trust me, I know, I have lived on four continents. I am proud to serve the people of Brentwood Bay - I owe service to them, after so many years here. Our office is located in central Brentwood Bay - 7135 West Saanich Road and is opened Mondays through Thursdays and Fridays on request.

It is recommended by the American Dental Association (ADA) that new patients undergo a comprehensive dental exam when they first visit their new dentist. Existing patients should have this exam every three years. Comprehensive oral exams are defined by the ADA as ". an extensive evaluation and the recording of all extraoral, intraoral and soft tissues".
Lately I was asked by a patient to explain dental implants and outline the "most important part" of these. I did my best to gather some thoughts (thank you Canadian Dental Association) and present everything on my site. I do not intend to be exact with this information, but just outline the obvious advantages over other options of the dental implant treatment for substituting missing teeth.

No amalgam (grey/silver) fillings in my office! Dental fillings are generally a restorative process that repair teeth damaged by decay. Sometimes, enamel loss causes a tooth to become sensitive and, therefore, a dental filling is needed to alleviate the pain. Your dentist will find tooth cavities and decay quickly during a routine dental examination.
