Maurice Fiorio, the man behind the name brand associated with high fashion and high quality began his career in France since 1963.
Encouraged by his mother, he began to cut hair at age fourteen, and completed his apprenticeship in a small town in France. In 1971 he came to Canada in search of a place where his burgeoning career as a stylist could flourish, and Toronto became his home. After only a few days here he was hired at a small salon downtown, where he worked as a stylist for five years.

The Fiorio philosophy is about styling hair that's realistic and beautiful. Be it natural, sleek, or tousled and sexy, it's always simple to wear, stunning to look at and easy to manage. With hair as an integral part of our personal identity, our goal at Fiorio is to create successful haircuts that work for the individual.
Fiorio colourists and stylists work on the level-based system. We determine the level according to three vital factors: years of experience, skill level, and client retention. This is a fee that normally gets worked into the cost of the service however we wanted to be very transparent with where that fee goes.

I'm finally back to give a review for this salon, long after deciding to stop going there. The reason I was a returning customer for many years was just because one of the female colourists did a really nice job (even if she was aloof with me). Unfortunately due to scheduling issues I regularly had to get the colour done by various other colourists, including Marc (owner's son) and others, which always turned out badly (Marc made my hair almost white blonde even though I specifically said I wanted to go darker; the other ones also sometimes ignored instructions). This was my first visit to Fiorio and they exceeded my expectations. Daniel took the time to understand my needs, then shared his vision of the best cut for my hair and face shape. We were totally in sync. Finally, he executed a technical cut with ease and precision. I am so happy to have found this stylist!

I have been attending Fiorio for about 15 years and my stylists are fabulous! I alternate between Chrisy and Alison who are stellar at what they do. Sadly mum doesn't come with me anymore but I have our great memories there to stay alive since her passing. My only concern for this salon is the deplorable attitude of their receptionist who has no tact or hosting skills. I have told Mr. Fiorio that keeping her will hurt his business and potential future sales. Keeping my fingers crossed.

My experience: made a last minute blow out appt on Friday afternoon. Was told when I booked that it is $65. I thought it was steep but it's Yorkville. She's a senior stylist.
Arrived for appt on time. Was brought to chair, asked what I wanted. Told her basic blow out w round brush. Said ok. Brought me to the hair washing area and told me to sit. I asked if I could have a smock. She seemed surprised that I would ask for one. This is the first time in my life I haven't been given a smock as soon as I came to an apt in any salon.
One wash I usually get two (I have a lot of hair)not

I've been coming here for a long time and have seen a lot of stylist comes and go. I let things slide but when you're charging the prices you are for a haircut, customer service should be top priority. My biggest issue is their receptionist - I wish I remembered here name but she's probably one of the rudest people ever. When you call to ask for an appointment, no hi or how can I help you - all I got was a "hold" and then "what" - I was so taken aback and I should've known it would be a bad experience. Anyways, booked an appointment for a cut and upon arrival

Went for hair colour - the stylish advised she would apply brown hair colour - and she confirmed 100% its not black not even close to black, after hair wash it looked jet black, I could have done at home with $15/- loreal colour instead of charging me $100/- allthou the website said $60, land up… going to other hair saloon two days later paid $175/- to fix their ugly job, will never visit this saloon and would never recommend ..I doubt this feedback will make any difference to them, but I am sure it will help the customers

Stephen Russel has been my colorist for over 10 years. My experience is always excellent: my color is fabulous; Stephen is kind, patient and smart; and the team that surrounds him is terrific. Everyone, like him, is kind, professional, and welcoming.

I received a horrible colouring and hair cut from a senior stylist I returned and the stylist insisted to allow it a few washes to blend. I did that and later returned still unsatufied and he would not acknowledge the issue. I have been a long time client and had my hair coloured by other senior colourists with no issue and reached out through… Facebook with example of what my hair looks like and have not received a response. So sad I really liked this salon and thought all locations would provide the same service when booking with senor stylist that is not the case!

Awful Awful Awful..made appointment with senior color tech. so that I would have the best person coloring my hair. Figured worth the extra cost as I have blonde hair and was going blonder. The stylist came and we spoke regarding what it was I wanted and what he was able to do. To say he ruined my hair would bean understatement. He basically turned my head into a bleachy yellow mess. It was white with yellow streaks. I was unable to tell my stylist as he was GETTING A HAIRCUT! he never once came to check on me nor see how it turned out. He was seated on the other side of the salon getting a haircut

I just finished my blow dry for my Christmas party at Fiorio with Christine. What a disaster! Crumpled, frizzy. I asked for something so simple, volume with a wave and what I got are chunks of crumpled hair. I kept telling her what to do and I was obviously unhappy to which she said I'm just not used to it?! By the time I was checking out I was literally sobbing. No one offered to fix it or no charge. This is for my Christmas party in 2 hours...I have no time to fix this, so $40 later I will be wearing my hair up. never again, stay away from this place.

Honestly worst possible experience in management! The hairstylist was good and did her job as she was guided by Mark ( the manager who is Mr.Fioros' Son ). I went in with nice freshly trimmed hair to get ombre the hairstylist called the manager over for consultation at which I showed them a picture and he said it would really damage my hair so we came to the conclusion to do a shade darker. He even showed me a pic of how it would look! My hair color was not changed what so ever it was worse because it was just damaged from the bleaching. When I went on to complain about it he just said not

I give my experience at fiorio 3/5 as I half enjoyed my experience. The colourist kelly was AMAZING at doing my hair... As I have thick hair and a dye job that was hard to get rid of. I give her 5/5. However, when it came time for my cut, by a junior stylist, I was given a hair cut I probably could have given myself... she did not really listen to me when I told her I wanted it shorter and did the bare minimum with zero detail. She combed my Hair so aggressively I'm surprised she didn't snap that comb right in half. I left with the most ridiculous blow out that I ever seen . I have never

Last time i was at Fiorio i had a wonderful hair colour experience. Went somewhere else today because a friend suggested i try it out. It was AWFUL. My colour came out faded and blotchy and the cut was far from what i wanted and they had to cut it short to 'even up the mistake'. I complained and they gave me a run around before charging me WAY more than i was quoted. I regret SOO much not coming to you guys and have learned my lesson.

Just had a haircut with Halsey and FINALLY I found a stylist who knows what to do with my hair! It was exactly what I've been looking for about 2 years now and although it was a bit pricey ($50) It was definitely worth it. Halsey's a down to earth guy, adds in humour to his work and gets it done fast, exactly what I was looking for!
This Fiorio looks really nice too with the 3 floors and all, I'm pretty impressed. I was in and out pretty fast and got exactly what I wanted including the service Fiorio is known for.
