Dr. Rudy Wassenaar graduated from the University of Amsterdam in 1981. Soon after graduating he started practicing in Amsterdam while preparing for the National Dental Examining Board of Canada's Board Examination. In 1987 this process was successfully completed after which he emigrated to Canada. He started his private practice in Williams Lake, BC which offered him the rural lifestyle he looked forward to.
From a professional perspective, he enjoyed the challenges and opportunities a rural practice offered, and soon he realized that he needed to master more advanced techniques and procedures to better serve his patients and become a leading dentist in Williams Lake, BC. Jennifer completed her dental reception course at the College of New Caledonia in Prince George in 1994. She worked at Pine Centre Dental and Lakewood Dental in Prince George as both receptionist and chairside dental assistant from 1994 until 2001. Jennifer and her family moved to Williams Lake in 2001 and she was delighted to join Dr. Wasssenaar's team.

Wow! What a positive experience! I just moved up here from Chilliwack and I was with the same dentist since I was a kid. Needed to make the switch when I moved and I am so happy. My procedure (fillings) was completely painless and efficient. I had so much going on and Dr Patel and Corey made sure I was always comfortable throughout. They were a dream team. I love Williams lake smiles, and I'll make sure my whole family is signed up here.

I live in Toronto and visit Williams Lake quite often. I chose Williams Lake Smiles when I first visited Williams Lake 3 years ago over other dental clinics including the ones in Toronto and I have found this clinic best. It offers all the dental cares that every patient would need without being referred out. Dr. Wassenaar is amazing. He did a dental implant for me and the result was just perfect. The staff is very knowledgeable and professional. Krista and Andrea are very good hygienists. They always do deep cleanings and explain things to me in detail. Jen is very caring and kind. Many years ago I had a serious boating accident severely breaking my jaw and damaging almost all of my teeth so I have had extensive dental work over the years and I am very particular who works on my teeth.
I had a consult with Dr Rudy who told me I needed an extensive sinus lift and bone grafting ( I had a minor sinus lift and bone grafting 2 years ago and it didn’t work) and he and his assistant explained to me how it would all work so I agreed to have him do this. I expected to experience pain post procedure but I never felt any pain after the freezing came out. Yes, there was a bit of swelling

I broke my front tooth off and was told by a dentist that it couldn’t be saved and that I would require an implant or a bridge. I decided to get a second opinion and arranged a consult with Dr Wassenaar. He was able to do a post and core with a crown and give me back my smile. My appointments were arranged quickly and communication was excellent. I highly recommend him and his friendly, professional staff.

I normally don't share reviews but beware of Dr. Dahia. She has caused me more harm than good. She put fillings where they weren't needed (there was no pain in those teeth) and subsequently caused persistent pain in my teeth that I never had before. I suspect she put the filling in too deep, causing root pain. She does not take the time to listen to your concerns. The staff was rude as well. Such a shame as I was with Dr. Wassanaar before and never had a problem with the practice.

Dr. Wassenaar's evaluation led to 15 months of dental work, including 6 dental implants and removal of existing crowns. The team made me feel relaxed and completely comfortable during the numerous treatment sessions. Scheduling and payment processing was handled efficiently and in a friendly manner by the clinic's office staff.
All this happened during the Covid-19 pandemic and the team's safety measures
