I drove by this restaurant a few times on our way home from badminton, and after reading the review I wanted to try it. We are new to Toronto and wanted to find a sushi restaurant to call home :D. Paid dinner price during lunch hours because we wanted selections. However the selection was lacking compared to other restaurant above Steeles. The food quality was mediocre. Honestly I don't understand some of these review, what are they comparing this restaurant to? First time and DEFINITELY last time. Want a comparison? Try Ginza or at least 168 sushi. I guess to each their own.

Osaka Sushi is by far one of the best affordable sushi restaurants in the local area. The food is fresh, albeit at times some items take longer to be brought out, however that depends on how busy it is. Servers are friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. The menu isn’t big but it’s still good.
You won’t be disappointed, in spite of some other negative reviews. Make a reservation on weekends. And don’t leave without trying desert

I have been going to this place at least for the past 2 yrs sorry to leave a review now but I’m so grateful how these guys work so hard to have their food always consistent and delicious! We usually get party platters at home and I love how all the fish is so fresh and salmon sushi is always have extra flesh on the rice with less rice and their crab meat fish is definitely a quality one. I usually eat raw pieces but Osaka’s crab meat sushi is so good and even their pickles ginger isn’t the one you usually get from other restaurants I don’t think a lot of customers notice that but I do!

I think even this management is expecting my review. It was that terrible. I have never experienced a cunning restaurant in my life. We order a good amount of food and they brought the food in random order after every 10 -15 min.
We were wondering why they took a long time to bring all the food and we decided that we will add the desert so they will bring that in the end.
We got the desserts immediately to our surprise, we look at the order again and we didn’t get half the food. The bill is an amazing 85$ for 2.
We asked them what happened to the rest of the food , by that time they kept us

We were at a social gathering and host decided to get takeout from this place. This location is normally an all you can eat sushi restaurant.

Food: Chicken teriyaki bento. Tons of rice and chicken with their sweet teriyaki glaze. The roll is not bad. Salad is pretty plain. 3/5.

The sushi and maki combo was a bit of a letdown. The spicy tuna roll looked and tasted like just regular tuna. I'd say one or two pieces had a hint of spicy but they must have missed or run out of sauce. The dynamite roll had almost no avocado so that was a big missed. The salmon seemed fresh but lacked flavor

Be careful they will force you to pay for service fees which is illegal. The food was good. The service at first was slow and we need it to asked them few times to bring some items to the table. Just the experience was going to be overall good if they don't force the customer to pay 13% service fees without any notice. This unprofessional way of dealing with customers. Be honest with your customers and put out a sign clearly indicates that there is service fees. Tips should be optional not forced. We are in Canada.

No complaints. Service was as expected. Food was fresh and service was good. Some of the best AYCE sushi you will get in the area in terms of quality. Competitors might be a cut above with staging but this place is consistent with their food, service and portions. It's turned into our regular go-to sushi place after so many of them have shut down.

Been going there since they opened with our friends. Always fun to try vast variety of Appetizers, Fresh Sushi, Sashimi, Grilled meats, rice , veggies and so much more. Man we're stuffed by the time we get out.
Top it off with a good variety of desserts. Can't wait to go back.😋

This was my first time here, and it definitely won't be my last!
The staff was very welcoming, pleasant, and helpful, and the facilities were clean and relatively bright.
The lunch menu was very reasonable, with the dishes tasting fresh and flavourful. (I especially appreciated the striploin!)
Add this place to your AYCE sushi spots!
Looking forward to trying their dinner menu...

I wish I could leave better review.. I have been a fan of this place before pandemic and used to come very often.
Food used to be very fresh and warm, and good quantities for all you can eat. I have been here twice after pandemic. Taste isn't the same anymore. May be chef changed? Also sushi to rice ratio is very off, there's too much rice in sushi that I had to keep breaking it to leave out some rice. I felt really bad as I wasted so much doing so. Tempura were very thick. Foods were coming out bit cold and server kept forgetting drink order even after reminding so many times. I don't blame her

We were very impressed with Osaka on a Sunday night. The place was quite clean and the staffs here were super nice and helpful. The food was fresh and delicious, they had lots of food to choose from for AYCE. Sashimi was pretty fresh, overall had a great experience and will be coming back in the future.

We decided to try Osaka Sushi for the first time and we were quite disappointed. We were pulling out our chairs to sit as we arrived and immediately "what do you want to drink?" I explained it's our first visit and I haven't seen a menu. I was provided with an iPad and the draft beer section had no brand names. The server kept saying what they don't have. I then just asked "tell me what you do have". Later we ordered a Shirley Temple (non alcoholic), the server got feisty saying "I told you, these type of drinks we don't have". Very strange since

Ordered the salmon poke bowl. A little thrown off with peas and corn and little pieces of carrots (almost as though it was a frozen bag of mixed veggies) ... but salmon was fresh and the sauce was nice.

Can definitely level up their avocado and cucumber game though (and spicy goes a long way!) Oh, and can do without the lettuce too. Odd combos but price was reflective of the bowl.

Probably won't order again.

This AYCE sushi place was just ok. Sashimi was fresh but no special fish or seafood. The rolls were good but the grilled food was meh. Our garlic steak was overcooked, takoyaki wasn't very good, and shrimp was stuck to the skewer and impossible to peel. Dessert was hit and miss as well. The coffee mousse was delicious but the mango yogurt was not. The place wasn't very busy on a Saturday evening so that says a lot. Though I think it's a decent choice since there's not much competitors for AYCE sushi in the vicinity. Just not worth the travel if you're coming from markham

Came here for dinner for a staff party! TL;DR: The sushi is pretty good, and it doesn't take a super long time for the food to come out. Place is spacious and clean and staff are professional. iPads are used to order food.

Food Quality: [4/5]

Sushi was pretty great. Our orders were made through an iPad and the menu was organized well into different type of categories. Our food did not come late and no items were seemingly missed. They came out fresh. My table and I ordered lots (more than 150pcs) of Salmon sashimi dishes and they came in separate rounds, splitting the order in chunks. Of

AYCE food 4/5. Service 1/5. You literally have to keep asking the staff to clear your empty dishes otherwise they won't do it. The food did come out pretty quickly and it was quite good. Price was average 32.99/adult for weekend dinner.

We had an abysmal experience at Osaka Sushi and management didn't care one bit.

Thing started OK, got our order placed and then things started to go down hill. We were shorted by 2 maki rolls and a few odds and ends, the food that did arrive was very inconsistent quality, some of it tasted as if it was several days old then deep fried.

The ipad crashed so we waited to flag down a server, they restarted the app and walked away without setting up our table, meaning we couldn't order. Wait some more, flag down another server, who "fixes it" and runs away. The ipad is freezing

I met a few friends for lunch yesterday. I was impressed with tasty food and the lunch special (great value) I had various chicken dishes and vegetable rice. I especially liked the wings.

Servers were quick, kind and attentive. I will definitely return again soon.

One of the best things about iPad sushi ordering is the record of every item and the time stamp for the order. I don't usually post reviews and I'm a very lenient customer. I'm the type of customer that just accepts a wrong order and shrugs it off. I've been to many all you can eat sushi places and I've noticed that these types of restaurants tend to make you wait longer for your second round of orders and/or leave out items you ordered.

Osaka Sushi was no different in this practice. However my experience with them was the worst. The restaurant was almost empty save for

The restaurant is a big open space can accommodation large parties no problem. We just moved into this area and was exploring our sushi options since I am a sushi fiend.

The food we ordered was delicious. The food came out hot and fresh. I don't recall any missing items as other people had. I would recommend this place. For an ayce sushi it is better than the average in and around Toronto.

I went for lunch on a Saturday afternoon with a friend and they were surprisingly not busy. The food started coming out quickly, but then quickly stopped. Not all our food came out, and a large chunk of our order was missing. What was missing? The sushi rolls. What's the point of going to a sushi place again? So when I asked our server about our missing food, she said that our order was done. That was obviously false so she took our order by hand, and still, only a few items came from that. Sushi rolls still missing. So I let it go and ordered dessert. Finally in the middle of eating dessert

The restaurant is very quaint and have segregated rooms available.
We (me and my friend) ordered 2 rolls (salmon lover and black dragon) as well as 2 toro and 2 uni sushi and takoyaki. I was not a fan of the toro, and the uni was just ok. What stands out in my opinion are their rolls. They are HUGE. We definitely didnt finish everything. I think we could've ordered just 1 roll and that would have been a good amount.

They seem to have specialty fish shipped in on certain days such as bluefin tuna, which was a bit expensive.

We came here for a quick lunch. We ordered a-la-carte. The have an all-you-can eat option (4 choices: sushi vs Japanese food, deluxe vs basic).

The service was fast. The food taste was average. For example, the salmon had a bland taste. You don't always get what you ordered.

Their combos come with miso soup, garden salad, and a small scoop of ice cream (choose one of green tea, red bean, mango, chocolate, vanilla). Combo prices are typically $10 to $14.

We ordered:
1. Sushi Maki Combo A, $11.99.
2 salmon, red snapper, shrimp, crab, eel, 8 California roll.
2. Pork Cutlet, $9.99

Only redeeming thing here is the blueberry yogurt dessert lol.

Service was so bad here. How do you mess up iPad service? Well, anything that wasn't on the iPad they just had no clue. It wasn't even that busy. Asked for ginger and sauce 4 times. Asked for cola and ginger ale 3 times (took 40 minutes!).

The rolls were good (black dragon, dynamite), nigiri had a huge chunk of dense rice, totally disproportionate to the topping. Sashimi was okay though, medium/small size pieces.

Price is on the upper scale of AYCE so go elsewhere.

Not sure if I would come back here.

Came here for a friend's birthday (it used to be called Itamae). They have the ipads where you can order til your hearts content - it's AYCE - so expect the portions to be small and ordered a few of each item (be careful and look at the number of pieces for each item before hitting the + sign..lol).

For AYCE...it's actually pretty decent. All the fish dishes we had were great/fresh. And the octopus balls were a great choice...deep fried deliciousness.

It's a huge space, so big parties are welcome. And there is plenty of parking so no issues there. The servers were really

This is an all you can eat place, but it's not your typical buffet where they put out trays of food for people to help themselves. Instead, they give each table an iPad that has the menu loaded on there. You simply select what you want, along with the quantity, and then submit it electronically. At any point during your meal, you can order additional items. There's even a button you can press to call your waiter, like the flight attendant buttons on airplanes! It's a cool, efficient system. The only criticism I have about the menu is that it doesn't have descriptions, which

What! No sashimi in an all you can eat japanese restaurant?! Oh but they have practically everything else though. A favourite was beef teriyaki - tender and tasty. And their desserts were a huge hit! Chocolate ice cream was reordered many times. And for the first time i tried fried milk. My brain still can't wrap around the concept of fried milk... and i honestly still don't know how to describe it. But it was a good experience. Lol. Does this even make sense?!
The service was ok. They made mistakes with bringing out the wrong orders, and sometimes not bringing out the ones
