Sushi Moto
Sushi Moto offers a cozy, home-like atmosphere to help you enjoy your stay with peace of mind. We have assembled a strong team of professionals, all of whom aspire to constantly excel and step up to your needs. A surprisingly nice place with amazing food and quality of service. A large variety of food, even for vegetarians and a great selection of sake, wines and cocktails.

Was welcomed and treated the way you would expect at a fine dining restaurant. Beef tataki (sashimi) refers to a Japanese method of preparing fillet beef, where the meat is lightly seared, marinated, sliced thinly similar to sashimi, and served with a citrus-soy dipping sauce.
Services
We assembled a strong team of professionals, all of whom aspire to constantly excel and step up! We believe restaurants are at their best when they focus their efforts on the quality of their food and service. Whether it be in the kitchen preparing for dinner or at the front door greeting customers, these activities are what make a restaurant.

At the end of the day, its decent Sushi. The ambience is very clean and up to date. The food is decent good. Nothing to write home about, but very edible and nicely laid out. The waitress was extremely nice and pleasant.

I will say, its Yonge and 401 in front of City Hall. I would have expected slightly better Sushi, esspecially with all the competition around. It seems like if you want the really good sushi, you have to go Downtown.

Just okay, nothing special.

We got the Agedashi Tofu, Shrimp & Veggie Tempura, and Sashimi Sushi Maki combo (small). The tofu was the star of the night, mostly because of the sauce. The tempura was nothing special, and the sushi combo was mediocre. The fish was not especially fresh, and the flavour was average.

Such subpar sushi for above average price. I really don't get why this place has a good rating. Revisited after many years because we couldn't get a spot elsewhere. Especially with the amount of competition these days. I've you're looking for a comfortable restaurant with good service but really below average sushi, here's your spot. I'd compare it to food court sushi. Much better options around the city to spend your money.

Some of the best sushi I've ever had. I would highly recommend their sushi boats for groups (we were 5 people and struggled to finish a large one, for reference). Their Hungry roll is also a must-try. The service and ambiance are both great. Looking forward to visiting again!

I really enjoyed the ambience and sushi here! It is more on the pricier side but totally worth it! The food was great and the staff is so friendly and kind. I had the rainbow roll, it tasted really fresh and the sizes of the roll were cut perfectly. Will definitely coming back again!

I bought $100 worth of stuff (Ebi mayo, sashimi dish (entry level platter) and two of the top rolls they have

The Ebi mayo was super cold when it arrived which makes me think it's not fresh at all.

The rolls are super small compared to sushi bong and not as flavourful as Nome Izakaya.

If I'm going to spend a hundred bucks I expect way more than what I got. I though Nome Izakaya was expensive but now it's a steal of a deal compared to what I got tonight. I can get oysters, burgers, multiple rolls from Nome and it will still be way cheaper than here.

Overall I gave a two since

Our go to had a 90 minute wait so I googled Yonge-Sheppard Sushi and SushiMoto had very good ratings on both Google Reviews and Yelp..... Meh is all I can say. While most others give a 12%+ savings for cash, not here.

Ordered a Sushi/Sashimi/Maki platter and not very good. Fish seemed to have a high water content, so lacked flavour and was room temperature. Add to that, not overly generous portions.

Not great tempura either.

Finally @ $125, not particularly good value either.

I guess there's a reason our go to had a 90 minute wait (Hamaru).

My first time trying sushi moto and it did not disappoint! The sashimi was so fresh and the pieces were so thick! The sashimi platter has so many different assorted pieces. Great value, cravings satisfied and will be coming back!

It was my first time ordering from this restaurant and the experience was excellent.

I had a sudden craving for sake sushi / sashimi and nothing else. The person who took my order over the phone made the perfect recommendation of a combo consisting of sake sushi, sake sashimi, shrimp and vegetable tempura. The fish was fresh and the tempura was a good sized portion.

Everything was delicious down to the miso soup.
It's a little pricier than I would like but well worth the money. Highly recommend!

Great sushi spot!
Service is on point here, they're very attentive. The sushi itself is pretty tasty! All the fish pieces are smooth and fresh. Their miso soup includes some noodles, which you don't see very often. I'm also pleasantly surprised that their ice cream isn't a single tiny scoop, but a rather sizable about. The matcha quality in the ice cream is probably a little better than what you'd find at an AYCE sushi place, but definitely not as good as Tsujiri or dedicated matcha cafes. The prices here are also pretty reasonable.
Overall, great place to get sushi!

Sushi Moto is a great spot for work lunches or dinner either with your team or with clients. It is clean, professional and you can't go wrong with Japanese food. I came here for lunch with a vendor.

Salmon teriyaki bento boxes is typically my go-to but I was deeply disappointed with my salmon here - it was overcooked and dry, as if they made it in advance and kept it warm for a long time until my order came in. The shrimp tempura though was tasty and it came with 3 compared to the usual 1 when you go to other locations. The California roll was a good ratio of rice, so I think the next time

I'm a fan! Not only does it have a modern, comfortable look and feel, but they also have several television screens so I was able to catch Monday Night Football while having sushi!

We ordered the "small" sushi platter and it was more than enough for the three of us (2 adults & an 8yo) -- each of us had an appetizer as well.

The staff were friendly, and the restaurant was well taken care of. Nice little bar, too.

It's a good sushi restaurant in the area. The sashimi is pretty fresh, cold noodle which comes with the main dish is tasty and most of the food here is flavourful.

It's pricier than lots of other sushi restaurants in the area but it's worth the money considering the better food quality here.

Sushi moto is kind of a mid between an Izakaya and a high end sports bar.

The sushi is above average for the restaraunts in the area and is priced accordingly.

There is a ton of speciality rolls, a number of fun looking appetizers and a good selection of drinks.

If you want to enjoy the game but aren't the mood for chicken wings, give Sushi Moto a go.

Location: 4/5

Very accessible by TTC as it is right on Yonge and northeast side of Sheppard, but as with most places on Yonge, street parking is not the easiest to find unless you pay for $7 parking at any of the nearby Green Ps or $3/every half an hour.

Decor/Ambience: 4/5

Spacious, many booths for more privacy and still has a relatively open concept for smooth mingling and conversation. It is usually never too hard to be seated almost right away, no matter how busy it is.

Food quality: 4.5/5

This place is a bit pricey, but the freshness, taste, presentation and quality of the food: sashimi

Classy sushi spot perfect for a night out when you're looking for a more laid-back and chill atmosphere! The private and spacious seats, low music punctuated occasionally by warm greetings from the staff, combined with superb service and food makes this one of my favourite Japanese restaurants to visit with friends. :)

From the moment of walking in, all of the waitresses were friendly and attentive, and the place was clearly not in need of extra staff. Requests were always answered promptly, whether it be for dishes to be cleared, more drinks, or the bill. The food (which I will get to shortly

We wanted the Otoro Blue Fin and they didn't have any. They had a premium Sashimi platter of 18pcs for $50 advertised which she offered. We ordered that. Then she came and said it was sold out. So we ordered a small boat and Red Fin Toro. The boat was good. However the $30 for the 5 slices of Toro Red Fin was awful. It had cartilage was irregular and tasted fishy. Our bill was $168 ($144 w/o HST) which wasn't a very good value. It was a b-day dinner to boot!
