Located at the corner of Provencher and Tache, Promenade Cafe provides an intimate dining experience while allowing for required social distancing. My son and I had the Smashed Poutine with Bothwell cheese curds, gravy and tourtiere and agreed it was delicious!! My wife had the Seafood Gnocchi and said it was divine. My son's girlfriend had the Charcuterie Et Fromage and was very happy with her choice as well. The service was prompt and friendly. Great atmosphere, reasonable prices.

I have gone to this place for years and seems to be taking a step backwards. The last two times have not been good experiences. The most recent visit: Coffee was very weak with the French press. I waited for quite some time and not one person came into the back room area. When I went up the front, four waitresses were standing around talking. I asked for a regular coffee and it was not much better.
When I got my beef tortiere it was totally cold in the middle. They took so long to bring another one that our table was done eating. I hate being the last to eat and everyone watches you. To make it

They have a breakfast menu that is served till two, as well as a brunch menu. The breakfast special, and omelettes were very good. Breakfast potatoes were excellent. Brunch menu is quite extensive, a little something for everyone. Prices are average. Food was good and service was great.

Went for brunch on their patio a few weeks back. The food and service were not what was expected. We waited 45+ minutes for our food, and the server didn’t update us on what was happening until we had to hunt her down. We were told they ran out of hollandaise sauce and had to make a new batch. Once we got our food it only tasted okay. The long awaited hollandaise was bland and they give a very small portion. The bannock was the highlight, but very small piece.

I ordered the Mediterranean eggs and my boyfriend got the Promenade breakfast. To be honest the food quality isn't good, I felt kinda disappointed. The tomato start off warm but then when you keep eating it becomes salty. My boyfriend's scrambled eggs are moderately burnt and it tasted bland. The environment of the restaurant is nice and my maple macchiato is yummy as well, that's why it got two stars from me.

Had brunch here and ordered the special which was breakfast sandwich with split pea soup. Sandwich was awesome, pea soup is really really really good! It’s my place to go for pea soup now.
Wife ordered breakfast and we shared an order of crepes, these were tasty too.
Service was excellent as well and the atmosphere was very relaxed.
Promenade Cafe we will be seeing you again soon!!!

No stars for this place. I had the beef stew and of the 8 chunks of beef I spit out one couldn't chew it suffered through 4 chunks and left 3 that were inedible . My companion had the daily special and again the beef was chewy and tough! A dog would have had a tough time chewing either dish! COMPLETE DISASTER. Will not ever visit again.

Meh, not really sure what the fuss is about. Came for the first time during lunch and we were not impressed. To sum it up, food presented great, but when you get down to it was flavorless. Soup (broc. & cheddar) was very bland. Beef sandwich, same comments. Fries were the best part. Service was also lackluster. Sure our server was pleasant but just did not do a good job. Our water glasses sat empty more than once, my coffee was empty, never topped up. Food took much longer than average to arrive and no we were not in any rush. After finishing our meals our empty plates sat in front of us for nearly

Great food and atmosphere. The gnocchi was immaculate and so was everything else. Loved the desserts they offered too (Dinner)
Breakfast - Not so great, it was actually disappointing. We had high expectations after our experience with dinner but breakfast did not meet them.

A HUGE thank you to the servers and cooks who made our dinner a high light of our trip to Winnipeg. We discovered upon arrival that the restaurant is normally closed Sunday and Monday but you made accommodations for our group from Hart Travel of Minnesota so welcome! The food was excellent, from curry couscous soup and rusticata bread, the meat pie, asparagus and glazed carrots to the creme brûlée . And perfect strong delicious coffee. If there was any complaint, it was too much food! The staff were outstanding, especially since it was supposed to be their night off. I wouldn't hesitate

My boeuf bourguignon would have been terrific. All the ingredients combined for a superb taste experience. However, in order to eat the meat cubes part of the dish, each one had to be cut to remove sections of fat and or gristle. So, while the dish had great taste, it was quite disappointing and required too much effort to surgically remove unwanted parts from each piece. I'm afraid this is another case of resting on your laurels while quality goes down the tubes.

I've been to Promenade Cafe twice recently and would highly recommend it. The staff is fantastic and the food has been excellent.

I most recently had the pork tenderloin - it was super flavorful and cooked perfectly. I've also had the steak which was perfect as well.

The view is also beautiful and makes for a very nice complete experience.

In the French Quarter section of Saint Boniface, this cute French Cafe serves great French comfort food and overlooks the Red River.

While on a recent visit to Winnipeg, my relative and I decided to check out this location as 1. the menu online looked amazing 2. it was located in a part of the city we haven't explored yet and 3. the environment was the perfect setting to reunite.
** bonus, if you have an OpenTable account, it's great way to get more dining points!

Walking into the restaurant, we were warmly greeted by the pleasant staff. Our table overlooked the Esplanade Riel Footbridge

Dined here twice, both for breakfast and lunch.
Close to The Forks, this place is well worth a visit for brunch.
The first time i went i walked in alone on a Sunday, was immediately seated in a 75% full restaurant. Brunch menu has loads of options, I chose the smoked trout eggs benedict and a latte to drink.

The smoked trout bennie arrived with a side of potato hash, it looked absolutely amazing. I cut in, the soft poach egg yolk oozed out and i took a bite. Absolutely delicious.

The latte was not strong enough for me, service was good.

The second trip was with a group of 6 on a midweek

Meh. What a disappointing meal. Wasted money and wasted calories. Everything was just okay, nothing, absolutely nothing, was exceptional. Two stars because the waitress was really nice, i just wish the service matched the flavor. Ps- our dishes looked nothing like the ones pictured.

Easy parking and great view of the Red river. Bottled beer, some liquor, and Enomatic wine dispensing system accompanies the wine list.

Shrimp chowder. Light and not very filling, yet full of flavors. Could've been served a little hotter.

Smoked trout. Fried capers, horseradish creme fresh, dijon vinaigrette, pickled onions, fresh greens. This is an absolute must-try for any first timer here.

Half poulet. Not what I was expecting, but very enjoyable. A lot of thought went into this dish. Breast stuffed under the skin with sweet potato purée accompanied by melted cheese, portobello,

My friends and I we're sat at a table in a room that was only 15 degrees Celsius. I know this because the waitress told us that. I noticed other customers were cold too (coats on, hands pulled up in their sleeves, coats on laps to keep warm.) We asked if we could move. No problem. We were put in another area that was warmer. I ordered onion soup and a clubhouse sandwich. Two others at our table also ordered the onion soup. When it arrived it was barely warm. Sent it back to have it heated up. We were told that it would be a while because they were serving a big table. So my friends ate

I love this place! Been here several times and the first time that I went here was when I took my bestfriend here for lunch since we love french food. I got the Madame Croques in a croissant and I've always been getting the same everytime I come, no regrets. I think I am obsessed with croissants. I like the sauce that the Madame Croques comes in with together with the ham and cheese. The meal is 19.00 with a side of your choice and I don't think it's pricey because the food was filling enough.

If you're craving for French food, then this definitely must be your go-to.

I wasn't expecting much at this place from a dinner perspective. The lunch I had was well and fine enough but dinner always sets up a different level of expectation. I have to say I was delighted by the meal here and I attribute that to the change in ownership.

Top marks to our server! I really believe that service makes the experience go from good to great. Our server was extremely knowledgeable which was reflective in the great recommendations he provided on the wine, starters and mains. They have a great wine selection here - by the glass and by the bottle.

The food here is definitely
