At Echo Hair Design, we have decided that we will continue with our current mask and sanitizing protocols until further notice. I started my curly hair journey about 6 months ago and got my first Devacut from Echo Hair Design. Kelly was very knowledgeable about my hair type and provided me with a lot of useful information about different curly hair products and how to wash/dry/style my hair to keep my curls looking great. It was obvious she was very passionate about her work and cares for her clients. I had a fantastic experience and plan to come back. I highly recommend this salon.

Worst hair cut I have ever received. Wished the stylist Marci had listened to me, I was sick and had lost a lot of my hair. I let her diva cut my hair, which I had thought would be a good solution to the hair loss, she just hacked the heck out of it, and at one point took a razor to it... anyway it's a mess, and now I have even more layers to grow out....

Whenever I'm looking for a new stylist I always look for a salon that's eco friendly. Echo Hair Design also happened to carry some of my favorite shampoos and conditioners, which smell like mint and really help you wake up in the morning, so I decided to give this place a try.
I arrived a bit early and had a nice chat with the receptionist who shared some of her skin care hacks with me, which was positive interaction number one.
I really appreciated that the stylist I came to see noticed some flaws in the cut I had previously received and helped me towards fixing the error in the future

Good stylists are hard to find, and I’m fortunate to have found Kelly@Echo. I have an unusual hair color and sensitive skin. The natural products used @ Echo, combined with Kelly’s expertise gave me back my natural color long after it had faded to silver. I also have thick-frizzy hair and Kelly magically cuts and styles it, so my hair does whatever I want in the weeks following. Recently Kelly helped me transition to silver painlessly. And yesterday she gave me a great haircut to show off my natural color. I love the results!

Did not give me the stylist I wanted. Would not listen to me and gave me a terrible haircut not even close to what I was wanting. The stylist(Marcie) tried to tell me I was in hair shock. In reality, it is a terrible haircut. I've had to wear a head scarf it's so embarrassing. When contacting management Kelly blew off my concerns and told me to wait at least a week before she would even try to fix it. When I contacted her again, I was ignored.

First time coming here and the experience has been amazing. They Booked me in for a consultation and then came in. They use what's called a Deva cut which was originated in NYC. They use this specific hair product to enhance someone's curly or wavy hair. I sat under a blow dryer for 25 min and then she finished my haircut with dry hair. I am very pleased with the new style and hope to come back to experiment more. I do have curly hair so it has been hard to find a good confident innovated hair dresser that is willing to take chances. If you want to be treated like a DIVA come over to

This salon is great! I love going in chemical free it’s so peaceful! As someone sensitive to salon products every colour I’ve had done here doesn’t even have a smell not to mention I’ve not had a reaction to lightener here ever!
All the stylists are super friendly! They carry several health conditions product lines also!
Dive curl, Kevin Murphy, and they even carry L’Oréal colour(the ammonia free line) which is amazing cause I’m not into having other products used in my hair!

I've been looking for a hairdresser who can cut curly hair for years! Every stylist claims they can but I could not find anyone... until I found Jenness :) she is truly gifted! I'm sure she can cut straight hair also since the many years of experience she has really shows on how versatile she is. She really takes the time to listen and unlike a lot of hair dressers I've had who just do their own thing she really gives me what I want! I can't say enough good thing about her ♡

The curly hair specialists! The owner, Kelly, has been doing my hair for over 15 years and I'll never go anywhere else. The service is incredible, everyone is very talented and friendly, and the salon is beautiful. Kelly is incredibly skilled, of course, but the most important thing is that she listens! She gets to know you and your hair, and is very realistic about what styles work for your hair (but isn't afraid to experiment). Whether I go in there with reference photos and grand plans, or just a vague idea, I always leave with a fantastic cut.

Kelly, the founder and owner of echo hair design, is a fantastic hairstylist and person! She not only cares about hair, but she cares about you as a person and will go out of her way to make you feel comfortable! Such an awesome little place, I'm so glad I found it! It's located on the second floor of the Roots on Whyte building. They use eco friendly and cruelty free products and I love that my hair doesn't smell like terrible chemicals when I get it coloured. Very friendly and personable hair stylists that always greet you and make you feel welcome. They also have some awesome local art on the walls!

The moment you walk in you feel the good energy of this place - it's very natural and relaxing decor and the lack of any harsh chemical smells. They use organic, natural, and animal cruelty free products and try to follow earth friendly practices so you can feel great about getting your hair done! If you have curly hair you must check this place out - they are trained in working with curly hair and know how to get you the most beautiful curls out, even when you thought you didn't have any natural wave or curl at all! I'm so excited to have found this place!
