Owners, Angelo & Doxa Makrydakis, immigrated to Canada from the Greek island of Crete. In 1996, the felt that Kitchener needed a Greek dining experience where customers would feel welcomed and a part of the family in warm, casual atmosphere. Soon after, the Three Kretans were born. Named after their 3 sons - Gus, Zack, and Niko - they succeeded in bringing the tastes of their native Greece back to KW.
With fresh ingredients, traditional Greek dishes and desserts prepared daily, Three Kretans has established itself as being Kitchener-Waterloo's #1 Greek restaurant for over 25 years. With over 20 years of experience cooking, our chef and the youngest of the three sons, Niko, is excited to present their vision to you and all our guests.

I ordered takeout from Three Kretans tonight. I haven't had Greek in a while so I was excited and I had never had them before. The food portions were laughably small for paying nearly $40. Im not even exaggerating that the rice portion was like, 2 tablespoons of rice and maybe one potato quartered. Very pathetic. It tasted good but when you pay that much for food, you hope to be satisfied. I've included a pic of my souvlaki "dinner" nothing had yet been eaten or touched. This is completely serious.

Held our wedding reception here. It was absolutely amazing. Gina and the rest of the staff went above and beyond helping us plan, and they were amazing when it came to guests and requests.
The food was delicious! Everyone got their order right. It was literally a perfect night. Thank you Three Kretans!!!

I have been to Greece this year for my honeymoon & I must say, Greeks know how to cook! My standard for Greek food has definitely been heightened. I have been searching for a place around here that satisfy my cravings. Three Kretans was delicous. My husband and I shared their Red Pepper Feta Spread with their delicious warm bread (called Htipidi). Really reminded me of an appetizer we shared on our trip. We also got the Three Kretans Pikilia entree, which was very delightful. It contains chicken and pork souvlaki, gyro, and dolmadakia ( sides : rice, potatoes and Greek salad). Very nice! The

The Event: Dinner for 2...in the mood for Greek ;)
The Good: Service, Portion size, Owner is very open to feedback
The Bad: Taste of food (chicken shawarma), Soggy baklava, Tzadziki that looks/tastes like plain yogurt
Highlights: Personable owner who walks around table to table making sure everything is OK; we did give her feedback as she asked for it.
