MAC Engineering partnered with Allsteel to build the world's first dish press. This original design allows our customers to create a dish every 2-3 minutes, a process that previously took 2 days when done by hand. We also matched these presses with remote access industrial routers, allowing us to monitor, update, and optimize the machines on an ongoing basis, without the need for a site visit for each update.
This project was a very interesting one as MAC had to work on this cell while it was still operating for the majority of the time. We updated the PLC and HMI programs for the complete robot cell with very little downtime, and instructed the machine operators on using the new programs as the we made version updates.
For this project, MAC Engineering rebuilt this robot cell from the ground up. MAC handled all aspects of the project, including: new spinning carrousel for finished parts, the automated part feeder with automatic rotation, safety PLC with guarding and safety devices, new controls, new PLC and HMI programs, updated electrical drawings, Safety certification and letter of compliance for Hydro Ontario laws.
