HarrisonBowker was founded in 2004 on the notion that Albertans deserve a full-service real estate appraisal firm that has a passion for helping people make sound real estate decisions-no matter what's happening in the market. We focus on producing impartial and in-depth residential and commercial appraisals, consulting assignments and reserve fund studies.

Of course, creating detailed, unbiased reports means we sometimes have to make tough calls. That's never easy. But we believe our clients are better served if we always provide balanced, factual and concise appraisals. That being said, our eleven appraisers and three support staff work together in the same office, because we believe learning from each other's experience and expertise helps our clients get the best appraisal possible.

At HarrisonBowker, we've been active in urban and rural-based Industrial Commercial Investment (ICI) markets since our inception. We have six commercial real estate appraisers on our team, and we expect our ICI sector to be an ever-expanding part of our business.

That's where we come in. Our team is trained and experienced in both urban and rural appraisals in cities, towns and townships across the province.
Agriculture is important to Alberta and it's important to us. Alberta is one of the world's top producing agricultural economies, with over 70,000 farmers and a diverse range of agricultural operations, from cattle to canola. Farm appraisals are an important focus at HarrisonBowker as well as an interest for many of our staff.
We are qualified and experienced in preparing reserve fund studies and periodic updates for all types of condo projects including mixed and phased developments, as mandated by Alberta's Condominium Property Act. A reserve fund study or depreciation report is a long-range financial plan for condo corporations.
What is an insurance appraisal? An insurance appraisal is a replacement cost analysis that provides an estimate for insurance coverage to replace existing building improvements and associated infrastructure on a property. The appraisal report ensures adequate protection against loss caused by fire, flood and other perils.

We use Harrison Bowker for all our estate appraisals.
We usually work with Pat and Greg, and they both are easy to work with, attentive to detail, and have the research and information in their appraisals that you need if you have to take a matter to court.
If you are looking to hire an appraiser and want to be able to rely on their report make sure they have credentials from the Appraisal Institute of Canada (AIC). That way you can guarantee you have an appraisal document that is reliable and can be used as proper evidence in the future. Or just skip looking at appraisers credentials and hire

These so called “experts” appraised my AG property in Whitehorse/Yukon Territory for $890k and I actually sold it for $1.6m. They charged me $2300.- for this appraisal which was the most expensive toilet paper I bought in my entire life…..on a positive note it kind of came in handy during the pandemic.

I called Harrison Bowker on Friday, March 16, 2018 based on a recommendation from a professional firm. I received a return phone call no more than 2 hours later (it may have even been sooner, I don't remember exactly). We had an appraiser contact us the following Monday to book the appointment. The appraiser came out Wednesday and I had the report by Friday. Overall, I thought the service was very efficient as we needed the appraisal done quickly. I would recommend this company to others.

Terrible appraisers. Should lose their licenses. They hide behind loopholes that appraisals belong to the brokerage and thus have no accountability. If your lender chooses to use them or Jackson Appraisals, which they also own, ask for another appraiser or use another broker/lender!
