Services
Kromar Printing Ltd. is located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, in a converted warehousing facility with a physical plant space of over five floors of approximately 130,000 square feet. Kromar also maintains sales offices in Ottawa & Toronto. In recent years, Kromar has reduced its dependence on outside suppliers in its print manufacturing process, moving towards self-sufficiency in all processes related to the manufacture of print products.
In 1945, two men Sam Krolig and Harold Margolis formed a general commercial printing company bearing their names. In 1968 Kromar hired a recent immigrant from India, Jack Cohen. Mr. Cohen brought 10 years commercial printing experience from India and immediately began implementing improvements and systems throughout the company.
Even though Letterpress is nearing its 600 year anniversary, most printing plants have dropped this process. We at Kromar feel that to give a top quality finished product we still need to use Letterpress, which includes; scoring, perfing, numbering, die-cutting, embossing, de-bossing, and foiling. Our pressroom, which occupies a football-field-sized space, houses one of the largest sheet-fed offset press rooms in Western Canada.
