The Counselling Foundation of Canada acknowledges the Huron-Wendat, Petun, Haundenosaunee, Anishinaabe and Mississauga Anishinaabe of New Credit share a special relationship to the territory in which our office is located. Toronto's long history of being a meeting place and centre of trade & commerce began thousands of years ago.
Today, it is home to Indigenous Peoples from across Turtle Island and many who have come from away. We are grateful to have the opportunity to work in this territory and commit ourselves to learning the truth of our shared history and to engage in the process of reconciliation.

Services
Designed as a place where real change could be identified and nurtured by the partners and a select group of philanthropic foundations, networks and not-for-profits, Foundation House is now the Toronto home for eleven organizations. As part of the work to bring people and organizations together, facilitators helped staff to develop a set of five key principles to live by.
1. Symbol: A tree sapling growing out of nurturing and caring hands. It illustrates the inherent 'potential' of every person given the correct environment in which to grow. The different coloured leaves suggest diversity within the individual. 2. Logotype: The Counselling Foundation of Canada typography is set in Century Expanded font.
The Foundation can make grants only for charitable purposes and only to organizations which have been issued a registered charity number by the Canada Revenue Agency or to Guaranteed Donees under the Income Tax Act of Canada.
We typically provide support to test new or innovative initiatives that address challenges either in a manner that has never been done before (i.e., a new idea), builds upon existing approaches in an original way (i.e., a new method), or deals with chronically under-served populations.

The Foundation welcomes grant proposals submitted through an online form (see below) from registered charities or other qualified donees (as defined by the Canada Revenue Agency) that are aligned with its mission. Please note that we are unable to fund all requests and have limited funding available for 2021.
Career development involves one's whole life, not just occupation. As such, it concerns the whole person. More than that, it concerns [the individual] in the ever-changing contexts of [the individual's] life.
The environmental pressures and constraints, the bonds that tie [the individual] to significant others, responsibilities to children and aging parents, the total structure of one's circumstances are also factors that must be understood and reckoned with.In these terms, career development and personal development converge.
