The best interests of your children are our primary focus. We know that parents are most concerned about making decisions in their children's best interests, and that separation and divorce can put parents in conflict with each other as to what is best for their children. When parents cannot agree, courts will decide.
Whether your divorce is contested or uncontested, we understand that it's a difficult time for you. Our aim is to get you through it safely, efficiently and in a cost-efficient manner. If you want to file a joint application for divorce, we can help you. If you want an uncontested divorce where there are no other issues than divorce, we can help you.
As a married spouse, the Family Law Act provides for the equalization of net family property. This is a complicated process that involves the identification of all assets and debts held on the date of marriage and the date of separation. These assets and debts are then equalized. Relevant dates, such as when your relationship started and when it ended, especially if one partner ran up large debts after separation.
Whether we're talking about child support or spousal support or both, this can be a challenging area for spouses to sort out upon separation. It requires them to keep dealing with one another, at a time when many are hoping to start a new stage of their lives.

At the Law Office of Carol A. Allen, we can explain all of your legal rights and obligations, and assist you whether you wish to negotiate support issues or to litigate, if that is the right option for you.Child support is not optional. You cannot opt out of paying it, because it's intended for the children, not the parent who is taking care of them.

Absolutely horrible lawyer. Hired by a family member and after years of delays turned out they filed the wrong case. Run as fast as you can.
