Services
The Boyne Veterinary Clinic is an intimate, small animal veterinary practice located in Alliston, Ontario. Our highly trained and dedicated staff consists of veterinarians, OAVT registered veterinary technicians, veterinary assistants, and client care specialists. You can count on our team for thorough, compassionate treatment of your family's cats and dogs.
The Angus Veterinary Clinic is a friendly small animal practice located in Angus, Ontario, just outside of the Base Borden community. Dr. David G. Funston opened the clinic in 1988 as a satellite office of the Boyne Veterinary Clinic to better serve the local area. The facility originally provided veterinary services for a variety of livestock and companion animals.
A wellness exam is recommended on a monthly basis for puppies and kittens, while adult animals can usually be examined yearly. As your pet ages, semi-annual visits are typically performed. During a wellness exam, your pet will be evaluated and we will talk to you about your animal's overall health and risk of diseases.
We, at the Boyne Veterinary Clinic and the Angus Veterinary Clinic, understand and value the strong bond between you and your pet. Just like any other loved one, when they are sick or injured, you want them to get better as quickly as possible. In order to determine the underlying cause for your pet's illness, we may need to perform some diagnostic tests.
Our veterinarians can perform a wide variety of surgical procedures at both of our clinics. These surgeries can range from routine elective procedures to advanced surgical procedures. On a rare occasion, we may need to refer your pet to a board-certified veterinary surgeon to perform complex surgical procedures.

I’ve only been to Boyne veterinary clinic for one procedure. It was arguably one of the worst days of my life. That was due to the situation not the business. Boyne vet clinic was compassionate, professional and completely understood how to handle the situation. The doctor and staff handled themselves with respect and genuine care. I’m thankful that I choose this vet.
I would highly recommend them and should I ever need veterinary services in the future I will be coming here.

In 2017 I took my puppy to get his first set of shots and he had a reaction to it, I called and they were going to make us wait a week before looking at him! Took him to the Beeton vet that same day and they were able to help us out. Now I have found out that they have shared my information without confirming with me first, called and spoke with Pattie (manager) and she couldn’t care less. Your information is not confidential with this vet!!! They are not easy to deal with, I highly don’t recommend.

We purchase diet food for our dog here. They didn't have the size that we wanted but they ordered it in for us. When it arrived they let us know and we picked it up on our next trip to Alliston. They even helped us load the bags into the car. Masks and social distancing made the experience comfortable and safe.

Dr. Funsten and his very strong, caring and terrific staff, have always put our minds at rest - He truly is a spectacular vet, and doesn't push us into spending money, he advises the way it should be done and is incredibly caring, thorough, and methodical, and the staff - extremely knowledgeable. Always have the time, and more importantly take the time if it is needed!

We have been going to this Veterinary Clinic for almost 20 years because I trust my pets are in the very best hands possible.
Dr. Funston is a remarkable surgeon and I have noted that his diagnosis of our pet issues are always right on.
He will also tell you if a procedure is necessary or not and his prices are very fair.
I must comment on some of the comments that state his bedside manner is lacking. Seriously? Dr. Funston seems just fine in that department to me.
He is reserved and very articulate
