Services
The physical examination is one of the most important components of your pet's veterinary care. The veterinarian will examine your pet from head to tail, as well as everything in between. Physical examinations allow us to detect any abnormalities that can go undetected at home and potentially lead to serious problems.
Baywood Animal Hospital is located just East of Bayfield Street in Midhurst. Dr. Greg McWatt purchased the practice in 1993 and has since been the owner and one of the lead veterinarians. New clients are always welcome. We have plenty of free parking and are wheelchair accessible. We encourage you to Meet our Team and take a Tour.
Katriona is happy to answer questions, book appointments or procedures for your pet's medical care. We also perform tests on ear swabs, skin scrapings and fine needle aspirates to identify various cells. The pharmacy is fully stocked to fill prescriptions to help with all your pets ailments such as medication for gastro, ear, skin, allergy, eyes and mobility issues.
Baywood South Animal Hospital, Barrie is located right across the street from the Allandale Home Hardware on Minet's Point Road. Our veterinary hospitals have had, and continue to have, a strong community presence. We are proud sponsors of many community organizations and school co-operative programs.
Veterinarians, Veterinary Technicians, Receptionists and Veterinary Assistants are integral members of the veterinary healthcare team. A typical day in the life of a veterinarian includes educating pet owners about preventative health care, performing examinations, diagnosing and treating patient health problems as well as vaccinating pets against various diseases.

The staff are so friendly and helpful! Moved to the area during COVID so we have yet to meet most of the staff face to face, but despite the communication being done by phone, it is clear and effective. Our cat was treated for respiratory issues and in 2 days was better and had more energy than he’d had in years. Very pleased with Baywood!!!!

I highly recommend Baywood! I have always had everything explained and options before anything has been done or charged. Nathan and team has always put my puppies/dogs health first and foremost. I currently have a 5 month Great Dane and totally rely on their expertise. In the past I have had a Husky and a Dane/lab cross and I would not consider going any where else. Thank you for taking caring of my family over the years!

My family and I would like to thank the entire team at the Baywood Animal Hospital. Out kitty recently had an infection to the point where she became physically weak and stopped eating. Nathan, Pauline, Susan, Katriona, Kim and all the other staff were very supportive in helping us get through these difficult times and fully recover. We highly recommend this hospital for your furry friends :)

Took our puppy here 3 times and charged ~1500 with no results and the puppy's condition deteriorating. The vet somehow missed an infection in the belly which we noticed and prescribed ear medication for a belly itch. Took puppy to another vet and very quick recovery. The vet would also tell my partner one thing and my partner another.
Lastly, the vet would give us a bill at the end with numerous charges on it without consulting or asking us, including expensive 'vet only' brand food - this was after we paid. Very nice people and maybe they were distracted by current events but overall very poor
