Heron Rock Bistro was founded in 2005 by Andrew Moffatt and Ben Peterson. Their vision then was to create a place for locals to come and enjoy delicious food made with quality ingredients. For the past 16 years we have been doing just that. We serve breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week, host live musicians on Monday nights and run a happy hour every day from 3pm-5pm & 8pm-Close.
Chris started at Heron Rock as a dishwasher shortly after we opened in 2005. Since then he has worked almost every position at the restaurant, including a short stint in front of house. It was a no brainer when the opportunity came to buy into the restaurant in 2017.

Services
Those delicious little pickles served on the side of many dishes at the bistro, now available to take home so you can add it to whatever you want. That secret sauce that adds the zip to our burgers and now available for you to spread on all your favourite snacks at home. You can ask for a side of this fiery favourite to go along with anything at the bistro, and now you can bring the heat home too!

This is my favourite brunch spot in Victoria! The roasted garlic & mushroom hash is my go-to. I just recently had dinner there and the server was amazing. She provided one of the best serving experiences in the city (I wish I could remember her name). The food and drinks were also fantastic! I would highly recommend Heron Rock!

Went for our 8th.
Bald head Waiter was professional and seated us within 1 min.
He was great.
Our waitress came and gave menus. She was coughing and had frog in her throat, which was brutal. She should be using a sick day. After she was done hugging her friend who just came back to Canada, on a plane, she took our order. ( People notice these things )
Ordered burger and soup.
Saw people come to the front saying they were ready and asking to pay. They didn't wait for their check. That was my first obersvation pre- meal.
After 23 minutes.....food came.
Burger was an inch thick

Awesome experience. I started with 1/2 dozen oysters and hubby had clam chowder. The starters were just as great as our steak dinners. Our server Jay rocked it. Definitely coming back. Returning will consist of a Sunday Prime Rib dinner, one day.

Way over priced I ordered a burger with the fries upgraded to a poutine and it came to nearly 34$ for a pick-up order. The prices on their website are clearly not up to date according to their website my burger should have been 17.5 with 4$ extra to upgrade the fries. The food was ok, but not stellar. They gave me more fries than any one person could possibly eat and I ended up tossing over half the fries.

This is a great place for breakfast or lunch. The staff are very friendly and there is seating inside or on the patio. The menu has interesting item choices and everything I have tasted here is delicious. Breakfast is served all day. There is a level access for wheelchair users and lots of low tables.

I ordered a large breakfast poutine with mushrooms added, for take out to share with my hungry spouse and after walking home and within seconds upon him voraciously eating it, noticed that they hadn't added the bacon. I immediately called and asked what they wanted to do, took a picture and told them it was partially eaten but I took a picture and didn't want to have to walk it back leaving us both hungry. I know it's a small mistake but what's the point of breakfast without the bacon when you've paid for it? Instead of just making another correct poutine, I had to walk

Then there are the beer dinners! Once a month pairings of food to guest breweries. Learn about palette of both. Informative and a great way to meet new people.

Thurs place is amazing! When we vacationing Victoria we always eat hear. And everything we have ever put in our mouths hear has been truly spectacular! The chefs are amazing the food is super fresh, the owner is super personable along with the rest of his staff. Our favorite place in Victoria for food morning or evening! Don't forget to try the waffles with fried chicken bacon make ect!...

Outstanding Americano and wonderful food and service. Hidden amongst heritage homes In beautiful Victoria bc. Well worth the walk.
Second day back for breakfast. They make the best Americano I have ever had since I have lived on bc. One more time back for breakfast tomorrow. Keeping this one in my favorites. I was staying down the street at the Surf Motel another excellent choice. Ocean view, decor original from the sixties.
